Falling for You

Hey Stampers,

Happy Saturday !! And if you are in Canada, happy first day of a LONG weekend !! It is still rainy here today (SO READY for actual summer weather!) but I am continuing with my bright cards to trey and ward off the grey and gloom !! LOL I love the new colors SO much - and my color combo today is no exception ! I used Bermuda Bay, Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry. A beautiful fresh combo, very vibrant ! Even though it's not fall, I wanted to use some of my fav items - leaves !! So I used the Autumn Accents die, Gently Falling stamp sets and some Woodgrain accents. I think they are great for any time of year !

I semi-CASEd this idea from a card I saw on Pinterest by Stampin' Up! To be honest, I am not TOTALLY thrilled with the results. LOL I love the card, but on the original one the words were close together and I wish mine were as well. Just goes to show than not ever card is a masterpiece ! Hahaha. But it took me FOUR tries to get the words straight and not smudged (yes, even with my Stamp-a-ma-jig ... I was having an off day ... ) so by the time I had this one stamped, I was too irritated to change it again just because they words were farther apart than I liked. BUT one day I may make another version where my words are the way I actually want them LOL. Take look at what I came up with and see if you like it !

So, what are YOUR thoughts !?! Hahaha. First, I die cut the maple leaf from the Autumn Accents Die in a piece of Whisper White. I used my new ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet and Numbers set to stamp out the "for you" in Tangerine Tango and Bermuda Bay inks. Love that sketch alpha !! Then I used the Woodgrain background stamp inked up in Crushed Curry to add a bit more texture to the leaf. Love that effect ! My stamped layer is a piece of Crushed Curry measuring 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" and I stamped the outline maple leaf from Gently Falling all over it, also with Crushed Curry ink. I layered a couple strips of the Tangerine Tango polka dot DSP (from the vintage Brights Patterns DSP Stack) behind my stamped piece. I then took my 1/2" Circle Punch an put some half circles there, so I could use them as tabs to hold my Early Espresso Bakers Twine in place. I had seen this done before, but never tried it myself. LOVE the effect ! So clever ! I wrapped my Bakers Twine around a couple times, and then tied it through a large Naturals Designer Button in a bow. Cute right !?! My card base it a piece of Bermuda Bay, and I embossed the front of it with the Woodgrain embossing folder. Love all the touches of wood with the leaves ! Fabulous !

Well thats my project for today ! Do you think I should have re-stamped the leaf (for the FIFTH time remember!) to get the words closer ?? Or is this one good !? Leave me a comment and let me know !! Thanks a lot for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Fun Flower Shop !

Hey Stampers,

Happy Friday to ya ! It is still rainy and cold here today, but its supposed to be nice and warm the weekend so YAY ! I am working this weekend, but I still like when the weather is nice ! And of course, this weekend is a long weekend - so I still get 2 days off in a row ! Monday is Canada Day, but even more important that that, it's my wedding anniversary ! I cant believe we have been married 7 years ! Makes me feel old. LOL So I need to try and make an anniversary card or my sweet hubby this weekend at some point. Maybe I should make one for myself while I'm at it ! Hahaha

Even though it is grey and dreary here, I can still brighten up your day with a fun and summery card !! My VERY FAVOURITE set in the new catalogue is the Flower Shop set. And, it has a matching punch so it can't get much better than that for me ! And if you buy them together as a bundle - you save 15% ! I love all of those bundles, and the new catty has a bunch of them !! I paired the lovely Flower Shop with the Really Good Greetings set (one of my new favourite sentiment sets) and some framelits. Love how fun it turned out !! Take a look for yourself !!

Isn't that cute !?! it makes me think of a beach vacation. The colors of Coastal Cabana, Calypso Coral and Daffodil Delight just scream summer to me. I used the fun "alphabet" flower her, love that fun design ! I stamped it in Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral onto Whisper White and punched it out with my Pansy Punch. I used the little scallop from the Itty bitty Punch Pack for my flower centres, and added a Rhinestone. I curled up the petals with my Bone Folder and these cute blossoms were ready to go ! I then used my markers to color in my sentiment, stamped it onto some more Whisper White and die cut it out using one of the new Chalk Talk framelits. LOVE the fun shapes in that collection !! My last bit of stamping was for my Daffodil Delight layer. I stamped it all over with the sketch style flower, also from the Flower Shop set. Love that fun image !

I wanted to add some fun banners behind my sentiment piece, so I looked through my DSP for some fun ones in my color combo. My Daffodil Delight banner is cut from the Polka Dot Parade DSP - this fun paper pack is SO great ! Love all the classic polka dots ! It is a carryover from last years catalogue, I wish I hadn't waited so long to get it !! The Coastal Cabana pattern is from the new In Color DSP Paper Stack. These new patterns this year are SO fun ! The tiny banner of Calypso Coral is from the Epic Day DSP, one of my new favs ! I added them to the back of my sentiment piece using some Dimensionals. The background for my banner is a Whisper White die cut from the Labels Collection framelits. I embossed it with the Chevron embossing folder, and added my banners and flower onto it. This was added to my Daffodil Delight banner with some MORE Dimensionals, and all of this was put on a Coastal Cabana card base. Lots of fun dimension on this card !

Thanks a lot for coming by today !! And remember, there is still a week to sign up for the Inky Fingers Club !! it starts on July 7th and you DON'T want to miss it !! Have a great weekend and Happy Stamping !!

Sweet & Simple Petite Pairs Pair

Hey Stampers !

Well, I am OFFICIALLY finished. My Inky Fingers Club projects that is !! I need to pop them in a box and send them to OHIO today ! So all of my write-ups, my tutorials, my pictures - all finished ! I am SO excited for you to see them !! but remember, you need to JOIN the summer session in order to see these fun ideas !! So please click on the links and head on over to the sign up page !! My projects (and 13 of my fellow designers) will be too fab to miss !!

I have 2 cards to show you today !! I cased the cute and simple idea from a card I saw on Pinterest by Jen Sannes . Her card was from 2011, but I thought since we are in the last week of the Grab Your Greetings promotion (get 3 sentiment sets for 25% off !!) I would try to showcase my FAV of the sets - Petite Pairs ! I totally think this set is a TOTAL must have ! It has sentiment for almost every occasion you can think of, and even has the matching "inside the card" verses as well !! VERY cool ! I loved Jen's simple design, so I decided to make 2 versions. Take a look at these sweet and simple cards !

CUTE right !?! This card uses the new color Strawberry Slush. I punched a Small Heart into a scrap of cardstock, and used my 1" Square Punch to punch around it. What a fun window ! Then I layered it onto a Whisper White Postage Stamp Punch with some Dimensionals. A 2" square of DSP from the new In Color DSP Pattern Stacks was a sweet background for my punched piece. I adhered the DSP square down with some Snail and popped my punched piece on top with more Dimensionals. I finished it off with a little bow tied from White Bakers Twine. I stamped my sentiment with some Jet Black StazOn underneath, and added a strip of Rhinestones. Could that BE any easier ?!

And here's my second card. I loved the idea of switching the heart out for the star !! I love this sweet little punch. Its from the Merry Minis Punch Pack. Did you know that, even though they are not printed in the new catalogue, this pack of Holiday punches is still available !?! Its part of the Christmas Carryover List - check out whats still available right here! The color used here is another In Color, the fab Coastal Cabana. I thought pairing the "best wishes" with the star was fun - like "when you wish upon a star" !! LOL

Thats my fun "set" of cards today. I really like how they turned out ! I wish we had some more tiny punches we could make card like this with !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Soft Sky Simply Sketched Card

Hey Stampers,

Good day to you ! I hope you are having a good day. Last night I made my way down to my Stamp Room to make a card for my Grandmother. She has been unwell over the last couple days - and I thought a beautiful card would perk her up ! She LOVES my cards and I always make sure she has some that she can give to her friends. I decided to use some lovely new products and the soft and beautiful color combo of Soft Sky, Pear Pizzazz and Marina Mist. Love these cool and clean colors together ! I also was VRERY excited to do something I have ALWAYS wanted to try but never did - Watercoloring !! I know, "Catherine where have you BEEN!?!" But I have never tried the real watercoloring with Watercolor Paper and Aqua Painters before last night - and now I know I am hooked !! I still love my blender pens, but it is not even CLOSE to the effect you get from using the Aqua Painter. You have to try it if you haven't !! So, without further a do, take a look at the beautiful card !

Isn't that just so soft and lovely !! I am so in love with the new Soft Sky color, aren't you !? But first - my watercolored piece. I was instantly smitten with the beautiful hostess set Simply Sketched when I saw it in the catalogue. The 3 lovely images (this bird, a flower and a vine) paired with some must have sentiments makes this set an INSTANT best seller. If you want this set, just plan a workshop with me ! Or place your own qualifying order of $200 or more and get it yourself ! I cut a 3" square of Watercolor Paper (wow this stuff is so THICK!) and stamped my bird onto it with some Jet Black StazOn. This paper is pretty textured, so make sure you hold your stamped image down for a bit longer than normal so the ink has time to soak into the paper. I then used my Marina Mist, Soft Sky and Pear Pizzazz ink pads and coloured away ! The Aqua Painter is So easy to use ! I was really excited to see how professional the colouring looked. Hahaha I then set that piece aside to dry well, while I worked on the rest of my card.

My layer of Soft Sky measures 4" x 5-1/4" and I used my Daydream Jumbo Wheel (inked in Soft sky as well) to wheel that beautiful image right across the middle. I then used my Circle Collection Framelits to cut out a circle to the right hand side. I used the 2-3/4" circle (#5 if you're counting from largest to smallest) to cut out my layer, and then used the 2-3/8" Circle (#6) to cut out a piece of Pear Pizzazz to layer inside of it. Love that extra layer of color !! I adhered my Pear Pizzazz to my Soft Sky layer with some Snail. I used the beautiful sentiment from the Too Kind set, stamped in Marina Mist. I then tied a some ribbon, and a sweet bow, using the 1/2" Very Vanilla Seam Binding Ribbon. I love how it looks wrapped around the layer, coming up through the die cut circles! Once my watercolor piece was dry, I added it to the back of my circle layer with some Dimensionals. The whole piece was then added to a Soft Sky card base. A small Vintage Faceted Button was added next to the sentiment, with a Basic Rhinestone in the middle, for a little sparkle. Love it !!

Well thats my card for today !! I hope my Grandmom likes it as much as I do !  Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Cards by Catherine Display Frame !

Hey Stampers,

Well, its the start of yes another week. It's only the first week of summer, and its already flying by ! It is going to be a HOT one here today, so I am looking forward to going down in my Stamp Room (which is always nice and cool) after working all day. The project I am sharing with you today is a SWEET frame that I made to advertise for "Cards by Catherine". A local craft store asked me to sell my cards in their shop, so of course I was SO honoured and excited !! I made a BIG basket full of different cards, but thought I needed some sort of sign to tell about me and Stampin' Up! and everything. I used a picture frame I had at my house, and decorated it with some of my fav items to make it really POP ! Take a look at the sweet results !!

Isn't that pretty !?! I just love how it turned out !! First thing, I needed to finish the inside of the frame. I wrote up a little info on my computer, and printed it onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock - did you know you can print on cardstock !?! It turns out GREAT ! I then trimmed my piece, and layered it onto a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock. The background of the frame is a piece of Bermuda Bay, and I used the Large Scallop Edgelit to cut a strip of Coastal Cabana and some Quatrefancy DSP to jazz it up. The color combo of Coastal Cabana, Strawberry Slush and Bermuda Bay is my ABSOLUTE FAVOURITE and I am seriously addicted. LOL With all of that out of the way, I put my frame back together and did the FUN part - the decorating !!

I wanted to make the "Cards by Catherine" stand out, so I broke out my Hearts A Flutter stamp set and matching framelits to make a banner !! I stamped some half strength Coastal Cabana (that means stamped off once, so the ink is a lighter version of the color) and made 5 banners for myself. I then used the Notable Alphabet set to make the word "cards" and cut all the banners with my framelit. I used some Strawberry Twine (non SU - from The Twinery) to string my banners on and then hung it off my frame. Adorable right !?! I then wrote the "by Catherine" with my Strawberry Slush marker on a small strip of Whisper White and attached it to my frame with Dimensionals and Glue Dots. A little scrap of Coastal Cabana punched with the tiny scallop from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack adds a fun little flower. Love it !!

My butterflies (I mean - how can it be about ME without butterflies right ??) are from the Best of Butterflies set. I sponged some Whisper White cardstock with my 3 colors, and then heat embossed them using VersaMark ink and some Early Espresso powder. I cut them out by hand, and adhered them to the frame using Glue Dots. Love how the sponging looks !! Very soft and colorful. Lastly, is my big beautiful flower. I used the Fun Flowers die for this one. I cut out all my card stocks; and then embossed them with the Fancy Fan, Perfect Polka Dots and Square Lattice embossing folders. They were all layered with Dimensionals. I used my Boho Blossoms punch and the tiny scallop from the Itty Bitty pack again to make the centre of my flower. I used a Mini Silver Brad to hold hem together, and added them to the middle of my flower. LOVE how it looks !!

Well thats it for me today !! If you are in the Gambo area - drop by the Gambo Handicrafts store in the Interpretation Centre to check it out ! Its a sweet little store - and maybe you can buy a card or two !! Thanks a lot for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Wonderfall Scrapbook Page

Hey Stampers,

It's another beautiful Summer day here in my neck of the woods !! I am hoping that means summer is actually here to stay !! I know that might seem strange to a lot of you, but if you are from Newfoundland - you totally understand what that means. LOL We are going to 2 events today - a baby shower and a birthday party, so I will be super busy ! I am still hoping that I can do some stamping though ! I am so close to getting my Inky Fingers Club projects all finished - so excited ! Remember, fi you want to see these awesome projects (along with 13 of my fellow Designer's stuff) you totally want to sign up for this fun Summer Session !! Click on the above link to see all the info !!

I am sharing with you another scrapbook page today !! I know I don't show a lot of them on here, but I just love scrapbooking ! I just love making these beautiful pages to showcase special pictures and memories. If you haven't tried scrapbooking - I highly recommend it !!

Isn't that cute !?! I LOVE that picture of Jackson. It was taken in our back yard in March when the snow was just melting. I matched the red of his coat to the retired color Riding Hood Red and then picked the rest of my colors to go with that. I love the combo of Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Crushed Curry, Island Indigo and Soft Suede. I used the awesome duo of the Wonderfall stamp set and the Autumn Accents Bigz Die to create my leaves. I die cut them first, and then stamped onto each of the cut outs. So easy ! And very beautiful. I gathered them together in a bunch and adhered them to my photo. I used a Bronze Designer button (vintage) tied with some vintage 1/8" Very Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon to dress them up. Love those buttons !! I don't have many left, and I use them sparingly. LOL

I stamped my Island Indigo background with a leaf from the Wonderfall set in Island Indigo ink. I stamped along the edge of my Soft Suede piece of 12x12 with the Woodgrain background stamp, in Soft Suede ink. Love that fun touch of woodgrain ! I really wanted to use the awesome Woodgrain embossing folder as well, so I used my Hearts Collection Framelits to cut out some hearts, and then embossed them. Love that texture!! I used some non SU stickers for my title - You'll Be In My Heart Always. I love using lyrics from songs for my titles! I used my beloved Color Spritzer Tool on this project as well, love those splatters ! I think this page is really a great layout - love all the uses of leaves and woodgrain. Really goes well with the picture !!

Thats is for me today ! I hope you enjoyed my scrapbook layout. Thanks so much for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Happy Dirtday !!

Hey Stampers,

Happy Saturday to you !! It is a BEAUTIFUL day here today. The sun is shining and its nice and warm !! I am planning on doing a bit of grocery shopping and then spending the day outside with my family. I see a BBQ in my near future !! Last night my hubby went out, so one Jackson was in bed I worked on my swaps for Convention !! Swaps are when you make a lot of one particular card and then trade with other demos so you get a lot of DIFFERENT cards !! I am doing one for Team Canada (I FINISHED them last night!) and another one for the Inky Divas group. I can't wait to see what all the other demos have created !! I will show you my swaps before I leave - don't worry ! LOL

The card I am showing you today uses a recently retired stamp set - I Dig You. Jackson is invited to a little boy's birthday party tomorrow and when I went to make the cad I realized that I have NO CURRENT  little kid sets !! What a travesty !! And there are some super cute ones in the new catty too !! So I know that I need to get some on my next order ! But luckily - I still have some great retried or "vintage" kids sets. One of my favs is the I Dig You set ! Its so great for little boys. I don't think I will ever get rid of it !! Take a look at the cool card I made with it !!

Isn't that awesome ?? I am really loving it. I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-7/8" x 2-3/4" and stamped my digger and presents on it. The new Crushed Curry color is SO PERFECT for the machinery ! Looks just like the Caterpillar machinery color, doesn't it !? I inked up the digger with it, and then used my Basic Gray marker for the wheels. The presents I coloured with the Gumball Green, Crushed Curry and Midnight Muse markers. I tore a thin strip of Early Espresso cardstock and added it to the bottom of my stamped piece to look like the dirt. Cute ! I also broke out my Color Spritzer tool to give a grungy look to the piece. I then layer this onto a piece of Gumball Green measuring 4-1/8" x 3". Since it's the little boy's first birthday, I had to add a 1 on the card. So I stamped the 1 from the ABC 123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers set in Gumball Green ink, punched it out with the 3/4" Circle Punch and layered it onto a 1" Circle of Midnight Muse. This was added to my stamped panel with a Dimensional.

My main layer is a piece of Crushed Curry measuring 4" x 5-1/2". I embossed it with the Houndstooth embossing folder - a very masculine look that really matches this card I think ! I added it to an Early Espresso card base. The cute sentiment is from the I Dig You set as well. I stamped it in Early Espresso ink and punched it out with the Word Window Punch. I used my Color Spritzer tool again to splatter the piece. LOVE that funky look !! This was then layered onto a Midnight Muse Modern Label Punch. Both of my stamped pieces were added to my card with some Dimensionals. And then it was all done !

I love this card, don't you !? So perfect for any little boy. Well I must be going !! Want to make the most of this beautiful day. Thanks a lot for coming by today ! have a great weekend and Happy Stamping !!

Memorable Moments Anniversary Invitation

Hey Stampers,

How are we this morning !?! I am having another great day so far ! Its a bit stressful being so busy with everything, like my Inky Fingers Club and getting all my swaps ready for Convention, BUT it is also super fun !! I am loving all of the stuff I am creating and I can't wait to share it with YOU !! But remember, if you want to see the fab stuff I have for the Inky Fingers, you have to sign up for the Summer Session !! Yay !!

The card I am showing you today is one of the BIG BUNCH of invitations I made for a 25th Wedding Anniversary. The lady wanted Teal and Silver for her colors, so I thought the new Bermuda Bay paired with a lot of Whisper White, Brushed Silver and Silver Glimmer Paper would be just FABULOUS ! I wanted it to be elegant but fun, and I thought the Memorable Moments set would be a great one to match with some hearts ! Take a look at what I came up with !!

Isn't that just stunning !?! Love all the BLING that the Glimmer Paper adds too ! So first I had to break out my Stamp-a-ma-jig so I could get my 25 to look just perfect. I stamped the numbers on some Whisper White and then punched it out with the Full Heart Punch. I then layered it onto the scalloped heart from the Hearts A Flutter Framelits that I cut out with Brushed Silver cardstock. I also stamped the "anniversary", also from Memorable Moments, in Bermuda Bay ink and used my Bitty Banner Framelits to cut that out. I laid all my stamp pieces to one side while I got the rest of my pieces ready.

My little "glammed up"stripe piece is a 1" x 5" piece of Brushed Silver cardstock with a 3/4" x 5" piece of Silver Glimmer Paper layered on top. I used a piece of Bermuda Bay that I punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch to layer under it for another pop of the gorgeous teal color. The twine I used is non Su (gasp !!). Its from The Twinery and the color is Ocean. I thought it was a great match for the Bermuda Bay !

My layer of Whisper White measures 3-3/4" x 5" and I embossed the left edge with the Adorning Accents embossing folder with the tiny hearts. CUTE ! I then layered this onto a piece of Bermuda Bay measuring 4" x 5-1/4" and adhered it to my Whisper White card base with some Dimensionals. I am so pleased with the final product !! Just lovely. I also stamped a heart from the retired I {Heart} Hearts set in Bermuda Bay onto the envelope. I just love adding a touch of something special to the envelope too !!

Thats my card for today !! I love them. It wasn't SO fun making a HUGE PILE of them towards the end, but the lady they were for was SO excited for them and she loved them too !! Remember to look into the Inky Fingers Club and sign up !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Happy & Bright Mixed Bunch

Hey Stampers !!

I am having the BEST day !! Ever have those days where everything is going right !?! Today is such a day for me !! We had a SUPER awesome time at Stamp CLub last night. My ladies had a ball making some fun projects and our hostess even brought a HOMEMADE ice cream cake !! It was super delicious. I wanted to share a bright and cheerful card today to mirror my bright and cheerful attitude ! Its a pretty easy card, and uses some of my fav products. Take a look !!

Isn't that just SCREAMING summer to you !?! I love it ! Its one of the cards I made at my Demo Retreat a couple weeks ago. It uses one of my all time fav sets of Mixed Bunch, plus the brand new Gingham Garden Washi Tape ! Washi tape is SO fun, and if you haven't used any before you HAVE to try it ! I was a total newbie to the joys of washi until SU brought out some of their own this year ! I used the Gingham Garden set today, and love these fun and bright colors ! I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-3/4" x 5" and wrapped my 3 washi tapes around it. This take is so forgiving, if you make a mistake putting it down you can peel it right back up and reposition it ! Love how they are a bit transparent as well, so you can see the cardstock right though it. I then used the Sweet Essentials set (on sale for 25% Off until the end of June ) to stamp my sentiment with Pear Pizzazz ink. This was layered onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz measuring 4" x 5-1/4" and then added to an island Indigo card base with some Dimensionals. Then it was time to make my flower !

I used one of my FAV sets of Mixed Bunch for this sweet flower. I stamped the flower with Melon Mambo ink onto Melon Mambo cardstock and punched it out with the Blossom Punch. I used my Bone Folder to curl up the petals, giving this flower a lot of fun dimension. I stamped one of the flower centres from this set in Daffodil Delight ink onto Daffodil Delight cardstock and punched it out with the
3/4" Circle Punch. This was added to the middle of my flower with a Dimensional, and then I added the flower to the card with even more dimensionals !! Love how it turned out and so quick and easy too !! Would be a great car for so many occasions - just switch out the sentiment !!

Thats it for me today !! Thanks a lot for coming by to see me today ! I really appreciate all of you that read my blog. And I LOVE comments - so leave me a message ! Have a great day and Happy Stamping !!

Beautiful & Kind Card

Hey Stampers,

Good day to you ! I had a very busy (but productive) night last night. I went and had my nails done (what ??? me time ?? I know ... shocking ...) and after I settled Jackson into bed (hubby had went fishing for a couple hours) I went down to my stamp room. I created another SWEET card for the Inky Fingers Club ! I am SO pleased with how my stuff is coming together !! Remember, if you want to see these fun creations (from me and the 13 other talented designers) you need to sign up for the Summer Session ! Please click on the link above or to the right of this post. Also, please contact me and let me know if you sign up !

The sweet card that I am showing you today uses one of my FAV new sets from the Annual Catalogue. Its only a simple set, but I LOVE it. Its called Too Kind, and its a beautiful 2 Step Stamping flower set with 2 beautiful sentiments. I loved the softness of this beautiful set as soon as I saw it, and its the first set I needed to play with when I got my box of goodies this weekend ! I decided to use the color combo of Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Pear Pizzazz. I also wanted to use a lot of Whisper White to made it look clean and elegant. Take a look at what I came up with !

Isn't that just too sweet ?? I love the abstract style of the flowers in this set. I took my strip of Whisper White measuring 1-3/4" x 3" and stamped my 1st step of the flower in Wisteria Wonder ink and layered the 2nd Step over it with the Elegant Eggplant ink using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. These 2 colors are just MADE for 2 Step Stamping ! I then stamped the stem with Pear Pizzazz ink, and using my Stamp-a-ma-jig again, lined it up exactly where I wanted it ! The Stamp-a-ma-jig is essential for 2 Step Stamping like this (especially for a perfectionist like me ... hahaha). I then layered this piece onto a second piece of Whisper White measuring 2" x 3-1/4" with some Dimensionals. I love the look of layering White !! So elegant. This was then adhered to a piece of Elegant Eggplant measuring 2-1/8" x 3-3/8". That thin border of the deeper purple really makes the layers pop. I then stamped my sentiment using the Elegant Eggplant ink onto a scrap of Pear Pizzazz, punched it out with my 1-3/8" and adhered it to my stamped piece with a Dimensional. A few pearls on my sentiment piece really adds to the simple elegance of this card.

I took my main layer of 4" square Whisper White and embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I wrapped a piece of the (sadly retired) 3/8" Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon around the top and adhered it to my card base. I wanted to make this card a square one, so I cut my cardstock at 4-1/4" x 8-1/2", scored it in half and made a 4-1/4" square card. Love having different sized cards, especially for a simple card like this. Perfect for sending a quick not to someone !

I continued the simplicity on the inside. I cut my Whisper White to 4" square and stamped the other sentiment from this set (isn't that a BEAUTIFUl verse??) with Pear Pizzazz ink. I then stamped the smaller flower in the bottom corner. Sweet and beautiful !! Just love this set !!

Thats all for me today !! I will be going to my June Stamp Club tonight (excitement !!) so I will tell you about all the fun we had tomorrow !! LOL Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Thanks for Mosaics !

Hey Stampers,

Good Morning !! I hope you all had a lovely Father's Day with the special fathers in your life. We all went to a lovely new restaurant in our area, Down Home Delights. It has AMAZING food, a great atmosphere and awesome service ! If you are in the Eastport area, you simply MUST try it ! The chicken and ribs are to DIE for. And of course, it was great having an evening out with my family ! I can see Brian and I going there in the near future for a date night as well. We know all the people who work there too, so its an extra bonus to feel "at home" when we go there !

I am very busy creating all the projects for my Inky Fingers Club Summer Session, and I need to have them sent away very soon ! I am SO excited about the fun projects I am creating and even MORE excited to see what my fellow Design Team Members have made ! If you would like to see these EXCLUSIVE projects (complete with step by step instructions) please join this fun club !! You will get over 50 exclusive projects to learn !! How fun is that !?!

And of course, I have my June Stamp Club tomorrow night ! Very fun ! The card I am showing you today is one that we are doing tomorrow night. It uses the fun Quatrefancy Suite - which I LOVE ! I am using the Mosaic Madness stamp set, Modern Mosaic embossing folder, Mosaic punch and Quatrefancy DSP. All of these products are SO fabulous together and I love the bright colors ! Take a look for yourself !!

Isn't that so cute ?? I can't wait to make this fun card with my Stamp Gals !! I stamped my mosaics in my colors of Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party. On the Pool Party one, I stamped my sentiment from the Petite Pairs set (on sale for 25% off until the end of the month) right on top with Island Indigo ink ! I was SO excited when I discovered that most of the sentiments from that set fin inside the Mosaic punch !! Then I punched them all out. I embossed my piece of Daffodil Delight with the matching Modern Mosaic folder, and then layered it onto a piece of Island Indigo.

A skinny strip of the Quatrefancy DSP was layered onto a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock that I punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, and then added to my embossed layer. I added all of this to a Whisper White card base using Dimensionals. LOVE that nice thick border of white to offset all of the bright colors in the middle ! Then I arranged the punched out mosaics how I wanted them and added them with Dimensionals. Some Rhinestones (Basic and Large) and Itty Bitty Punch flowers really finished them off ! What a lovely Thank You card to send to a friend !!

Thanks a lot for coming by today. I hope to share some more fun things from the Annual Catalogue this week !! I only got my order on Friday and haven't really even had a chance to play yet ! Come back soon and Happy Stamping !!

3 Cheers for Father's Day !!

Hey Stampers,

Happy Father's Day !! It much be Fathers Day - because its 10:15am and my hubby is still in bed ... hahaha. Jackson goes in every once in a while and jumps on him - but to no avail. I must remember this for next Mother's Day ! LOL We are going out for supper this evening at a BRAND new restaurant in a neighbouring community. I know that might not seem like a big deal to you "big city folk", but a new restaurant in my neck of the woods is a big deal ! And its a chicken and rib joint !! We are pretty excited. We are going with my dad, sister in law, and in laws. Should be great !! Yummy !!

Well, as usual, my poor hubby (the best Daddy ever next to my own of course) gets a last minute card. BUT I still think it turned out great ! If any of you know Brian, you will know that this card is perfect for him. Because he LOVES beer ! One of my fav stamp sets, Happy Hour, got used for this card. One major disappointment with this set however is that there is no beer mug !! I mean COME ON !! So, I had to come up with one myself. I saw this idea somewhere and have NO IDEA who created it. I searched a bit last night for someone to credit - so if you know who it was, please let me know !! I used some strategic sponging and the Ticket Duo punch. SO clever and cute !! Take a look !!

Isn't that SO fun !?! My hubby is gonna flip !! And so easy to make. for the mugs, I took some scraps of Whisper White. I then sponged pretty heavily in Crushed Curry an punched it out, keeping some white on the top, with my Ticket Duo Punch. I then trimmed off the top ticket shape for a flat top for my mug. CUTE ! Then, I used the circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to punch half a circle, and punched around it with the Small Oval Punch for my little handle. I sponged my pieces lightly with some Early Espresso ink and attached my handle with some dots of Tombo Liquid Glue. That was it ! Such easy and cute little mugs. I think they look perfect !

I attached them to a strip of Island Indigo that I embossed with the Chevron folder. I then added that strip to a piece of Gumball Green - half of which I embossed with the Stripes embossing folder. The bottom part that wasn't embossed was used for my sentiment. I inked up the "3 cheers" stamp from the Happy Hour set in Early Espresso and stamped it onto my Gumball Green layer. A piece of the AWESOME new 3/4" Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon was put along the side. I used a retired Bronze Designer Button tied with some Early Espresso Bakers Twine to add a bit of shine. This was all put on an Early Espresso card base. I then added some of the medium sized Pearls as the "bubbles" coming out of my beer. Cute right !? Love that fun touch. Who knew that Pearls had a way to be masculine !?! LOL

Here's the inside of my card. I stamped the fathers day sentiment from Delightful Dozen with my Island Indigo and Gumball Green markers and punched it out with my Decorative Label Punch. A little layer of Crushed Curry was added with another Decorative Label cut in half. I then used some of the fun drink stamps from the Happy hour set to dress up the inside. I stamped the drinks onto my layer in Early Espresso, then stamped them onto some scraps and cut out the coloured drinks and olive and added them with some adhesive. A couple more pearls in the martini really adds some fun pop. LOVE this fun set !! How come I don't play with it more !?! Another case of "too many stamps, too little time" I guess ! hahaha

Thanks a lot for coming by today !! If you are behind and need a quick card for a dad in YOUR life, why not try this cute one !? Have a Happy Father's Day and Happy Stamping !!

An Epic Day By the Tide

Hey Stampers,

Happy Saturday !! Yesterday was my hubby's birthday, and last night we had some YUMMY chili I made for supper (its cold and rainy here, even though it is the middle of June ... sigh) and then went up my Dads in the Hot Tub !! A great way to relax after the end of the work week. Even though I am working TODAY so that is technically besides the point. LOL

I am super excited today because my June Stamp Club is on Tuesday !! I look forward to that night ALL month - its just the best time !! I am really into the grungy distressed look lately, and I have been super inspired by all the fab samples I have been seeing - especially one with splatters and splotches of ink. My good friend Cathy really got me into this style, and I always think of her ink splattered self whenever I do a project like this ! Since my beloved Color Spritzer Tool has recently retired, I needed to find a way to make these splatters myself ! And I think I like this way even MORE ! Take a look at my cool card and I will tell you how to make it, including how to make these fun inky splatters !!

Isn't that so funky !?! I love the new Epic Day DSP and thought it would go great with the By The Tide set. I am SO glad this one made it into the big catty !! It is so perfect for masculine OR feminine cards (depending on what stamps you use) and of course, a must have for anyone who lives on the water where fishing is a HUGE part of their culture !! Here in Newfoundland fishing is HUGE HUGE HUGE so I knew this set was a total necessity for me !! I stamped my 2 fish - once on Gumball Green and once on Pool Party - with Basic Gray ink. I then fussy cut them out with my Paper Snips. Takes a bit of time, but not really difficult, I then punched out a 2-1/2" Circle with some Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the seaweed image onto it with some Calypso Coral ink. I sponged my circle with Crumb Cake ink. My layer of DSP is cut at 3-3/4" by 5" (love the wider border from the card base) and my sentiment piece is another piece of DSP cut at 1-1/2" x 3". I stamped the sentiment from the Sassy Salutations set with some Basic Gray ink. Remember this set is one of the sets in the Grab your Greetings Promo with is On Sale for 25% Off until June 30th !! I then rounded the corners of my sentiment piece and sponged both DSP pieces (and my Crumb Cake card base) with Basic Gray ink. Then I was ready to make my splatters !!

This technique is SO easy I have no idea why I didn't try it before !! You need a basic paint brush (like the mini kind that comes with a Kids Paint By Number Set hahaha) or an Aqua Painter, a paper towel and a glass of water. Pop open your ink pad, but don't flip it over yet. Then squeeze the ink pad so a good amount of ink gets in the lid of your pad. Make your paint brush nice and wet, and then swirl it around in the ink. Then just splatter !! Tap the brush with your finger, shake it around, jam it down to make big water drops and sprays ... just have fun with it !! I splattered in Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Gumball Green Calypso Coral and Pool Party. I just kept adding and adding until I was satisfied with what I came up with !! Make sure you clean the brush well in-between colors so they don't get all muddy. And after a while, you will probably need to change your water. But thats it !! And it really doesn't take that long to dry either, but you do want to make sure it is completely dry before you adhere your layers together. My last touch was a piece of the 7/16" Natural Trim, frayed at the ends, tucked under my punched circle. Love that trim so much !

Thats it for me today !! I am SO excited to show my girls this fun card !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

My Epic Day This & That Journal

Hey Stampers,

Happy Friday to you !! I am sharing with you today another project that I made at my Demo Retreat last weekend. I was SO excited by the new This and That line that SU has come out with, and I couldn't wait to get my very own Journal to play with !! Since I am going to my FIRST EVER Convention this year (I'm sure I've mentioned that, haven't I ?? HAHA) I really want to remember everything about it, so I thought that using this cool journal to "scrapbook" my trip was a great idea !! I brought it with me to my retreat hoping I would get some inspiration to decorate it - and it came from one of the most UNLIKELY places ! I had seen a gorgeous journal on Shelli Gardner's blog (she is the Founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! if you didn't know !!) right here and I thought it was SO stunning - but I didn't have any of the products to make it, most importantly some Chipboard. But, what is this !?! There was a nice big piece of Chipboard (a fancy word for thick dense cardboard) in with my Epic Day  Designer Stickers !! AND my sister in law Barb, who was with me at the retreat, had her awesome Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies with her !! YAY !! So, I got to work on creating something I just LOVE !! Take a look !!

I know its not really much like Shelli's, but I LOVE how it turned out !! Like I said, I used the Typeset Alphabet dies to cut out my initials, as well as the butterflies from the Beautiful butterflies die. How great that our Bigz Dies can cut out thick things like Chipboard !! I then cut out some of the awesome Epic Day DSP, also using my dies. I attached them with some REALLY strong adhesive, the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. I then used an emery board (yes, like you would use on your nails) to file all the edges for a seamless look. Also, gives it a great distressed finish !! I then sponged my Chipboard pieces - the big butterfly with Crumb Cake, the smaller in Pool Party and the letters in their respective DSP colors. They look SO AWESOME in person !! I am thrilled with them ! Not too shabby for my first time using Chipboard !!

I really wanted to use the awesome verse from the Feel Goods set on here. Its a bit corny, but I feel like I believed that I could become a demo and share my love of paper-crafting with "the world" (ha ha) and the fact that I am going to Convention really beings that all full circle for me. So, I was determined to use that piece here. I used my Gumball Green and Calypso Coral markers to color in the stamp and then stamped it onto some Whisper White. I die cut it with my Ovals Collection framelits, and then traced the same oval onto a piece of Pool PArty with a pencil and cut it out. I was really pressed for space here, so the next size up of framelit would have been too big. I love using the framelits as a stencil for tracing ! I sponged both of these pieces with Crumb Cake ink and also stamped a lovely doily image from the Delicate Doilies set in Daffodil Delight ink for even more interest. I used the heart shaped clip from the (retired) Elements Cute Clips set and tied a bit of White Bakers Twine in a little bow. SWEET right !?!

My last few steps were to decorate using some of the Epic Day Designer Stickers. I added the 2013 to the right hand bottom and also those cute Chevron images. Some 1/4" Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon made the perfect "body" for my bigger butterfly, and the Linen Thread was great for my small butterfly. I added all of my Chipboard pieces with some Tombo Liquid Glue for a nice strong hold. This really had to be sturdy to make the trip to Utah with my in a couple weeks !! Lastly I splattered some fun inks all over for the perfect grungy look. Love it !!

Thats it for me today !! I really hope you like my fun journal - and that you will do one for yourself !! If you want to pick up these awesome products, please stop by my Online Store to get some ! they are so fun to play with !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Retirement Rewind #10: Bold Blossom

Hey Stampers,

Today is my LOVELY day off - so I get to spend the day hanging out with my sweet little boy ! We are going to do some shopping and then go to Play Group this afternoon. Should be a great day ! I also hope to squeeze in a little stamping too. Tuesday is my June Stamp Club, and I am ALMOST finished preparing, so if I can get a bit done today I should be good ! Today I am going to continue with my Retirement Rewind series. It has been a while since I have done an entry, what with all the old catalogue going out and the new coming in. But todays card is SO adorable I just had to let it get off my computer and onto my blog !! It uses the retired set called Bold Blossom. I believe this set was in the Spring Mini in 2011 ?? Before I was a demo anyways. I love the bold images. I decided to pair it with a super bright color combo too !! Take a look !!

Isn't that SOOO fun ?? I love it. I used a color combo of Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise. Can't get much more bright and summery than those colors, right ?? I got the idea for this card when I thought that the little flower image would fit perfectly in the 7/8" Scallop Circle punch. And I was right !! I stamped one in each color onto Whisper White and punched them out. My piece of Whisper White was then stamped with 5 stems and I added my flowers on top with some Dimensionals. I layered my stamped piece onto a piece of Melon Mambo and added some 1/4" Tangerine Tango Ribbon (this was the one we could earn for free this year during Saleabration - Sycamore Street). I added a bow with a Glue Dot, and then stamped the cool "for you" from the A Round Array stamp set (new in the catalogue!) in Tempting Turquoise ink and punched that out, also with the 7/8" Scallop Circle. I added that with a Glue Dot to the middle of my bow - love that !! I stamped the cute butterfly from this set in some Rich Razzleberry ink on some scrap Whisper White, cut it out with my Paper Snips and added it with a Glue Dot. Of course, some Rhinestones to the centres of my flowers was TOTALLY necessary. Hahaha

My layer of Daffodil Delight was looking a little plain, so I stamped it all over with the butterfly stamp in some Daffodil Delight ink. Love the tone on tone look !! And it adds a lot of interest without using any more products - a great way to add texture if you don't have a Big Shot and embossing folders ! All that was added to an Old Olive card base. Cute or what ?!?!

Thats my card for today !! I used this as a Door Prize at one of my Stamp Clubs. I love giving a card and some retired product as door prizes !! It could be a stamp set, DSP, ribbons, buttons, whatever ! Wouldn't you love to come to one of my events and maybe win something fun like this ?? We would love to have you !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

A Blue Ribbon for Daddy

Hey Stampers,

Its my lovely hubby's birthday this weekend ! He is going to be 35 on Friday, so of course I needed a fab card for him !! The card I am showing you today is one from Jackson to him, and I love how it turned out ! I used the "old" set of Blue Ribbon paired with the new ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers and Label Love. The color combo of Midnight Muse, Smoky Slate and Old Olive is great for a masculine card too. Check it out !!

Isn't that cool ?? I love how fun and funky it turned out ! I stamped the ribbon in Smoky Slate ink onto Smoky Slate cardstock and cut it out with my Paper Snips. Then I stamped the "best" image, also from the Blue Ribbon set, in Old Olive ink onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock (the little bit of color difference there is so the words really show up in the stamp) and punched it out with the 1-3/8" Circle Punch. I adhered my circle to my ribbon with some Dimensionals. Next it was time for my banner !! I used the SUPER FUN ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet stamps to spell out Daddy on a strip of Whisper White cardstock with Midnight Muse ink. These are so easy to use ! I didn't even need to use a Stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up ! I tucked the banner behind my "best" circle to make it say "Best Daddy" !! Cute right ?? My last bit of stamping is my happy birthday. I used my Midnight Muse marker to isolate the words from one of the stamps in the Label Love set. I love taking bits and pieces of stamps like that - and its so easy using the markers !! I then punched it out with the Ticket Duo Punch and added some Silver Mini Brads. So cool !

My Old Olive layer measures 3-3/4" x 5" and I embossed it with the Houndstooth folder. I layered it onto a piece of Smoky Slate measuring 4" x 5-1/4" and added a piece of the 3/8" Midnight Muse Stitched Satin Ribbon. This was all put into a Midnight Muse card base using Dimensionals. Here is a look at the inside of the card ! I used a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-3/4" x 5" (love that bigger Midnight Muse border) and stamped the Happy Birthday and "1" images from the Blue Ribbon set in Old Olive and Smoky Slate inks. Love making the inside of a card match the front !! Woo hoo !!

Thats is for me today !! I hope my hubby likes this fun card. And I hope you do too !! And dont forget, the Early Bird Registration is open now for the Inky Fingers Club !! I am a Guest Designer for the Summer Session and would love for you to join us !! Let me know if you sign up !! Thanks a lot or coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

For You Flourishes

Hey Stampers,

Good morning to you !! Or evening. Whenever you read this I guess. Hahaha. Its a rainy old day here in my home, but I don't mind it too much. Makes everything nice and green and fresh ! I have SO many fin new things to show you that I made at my Demo Retreat this weekend, but one of my favourite things I made was this beautiful card. I was browsing around Pinterest and saw bunch of ideas for Color Combos using the new SU colors. One that REALLY caught my eye was Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Crisp Cantaloupe. I thought it was SO gorgeous !! I knew I had to make something using it. So I decided to make this sweet card using Layered Labels, Flowering Flourishes and a touch of Papillon Potpourri. You know me, I need to add a butterfly in there somewhere !! Hahahaah Take a look !!

Aren't those colors just AWESOME together !?! I am in LOVE ! I used the beautiful "For You" image from the Layered Labels and stamped it twice - once in Crisp Cantaloupe and once in Basic Gray. I fussy cut out the For You oval and layered it onto a Scallop Oval in the new Smoky Slate. I used my Apothecary Accents Framelits to cut out the Cantaloupe one. I layered all of the pieces together using Dimensionals. I also stamped the small butterfly from Papillon Potpourri in Crisp Cantaloupe ink onto Crisp Cantaloupe paper and punched it out with the Bitty Butterfly Punch. I love stamping tone on tone !! Such a great look !!

My stamped layer is a piece of Smoky Slate measuring 3-3/4" x 5". I stamped the largest image from the Flowering Flourishes set a couple of times in Smoky Slate ink. Again, tone on tone !! SUCH an elegant look !! I then layered it onto a piece of Crisp Cantaloupe cardstock measuring 4-1/4" x 5-1/4". I wrapped a piece of 1/4" Basic Gray Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon around this layer and then added it to a Basic Gray card base using some Dimensionals. I added my label piece over my ribbon with even MORE Dimensionals, and added a bunch of Rhinestones. I love the look of the Rhinestones in the centres of the flowers ! They look so great on top of that Smoky Slate. My butterfly was then added with a Glue Dot. Love it !!
