Well, I had the most AMAZING time at my SU Demo Retreat this weekend !! It was SO fabulous ! Made a lot of fun projects and, of course, chatted with a bunch of my fellow demos - lots of whom are going to Convention with me in a few weeks !! So, we were all getting super excited for THAT !! I made a lot of things, but only 1 scrapbook page - I thought I would share it with you today !! I used a fun sketch from a cool challenge I am in with some scrappy friends on Facebook. Its the Studio Calico Sunday Sketch for last week, and the last day you can enter the challenge is today ! I thought this sketch was VERY difficult at first, but once I started playing with it it was very easy and fun !! Take a look at my take on this cute sketch !!
Sweet right !?! I decided to use some cute pics of my son Jackson eating some Ice Cream. Let me tell you, Ice Cream Cones are a way of LIFE around my place ... he LOVES them and asks for them all. the. time. I used the cute color combo of Pistachio Pudding, Blushing Bride, Pool Party, So Saffron, Baked Brown Sugar and Crumb Cake for this layout. Don't those colors just totally say summer and ice cream to you !?! I thought they were great ! Since I was at the Retreat, and sitting next to my SUPER awesome and talented scrapper friend Cathy Caines, I used some of her non SU goodies. In particular, those awesome alphabet stickers and Thickers stickers - aren't those colors just PERFECT ?? I was so excited to get them to match so well !! Also, a few of the little stickers and embellishments were hers too. Love them !!
I really want to tell you how to make that cute Ice Cream Cone punch art ! I got the fun idea from Dianna Gibbs blog. Its a post she did over a year ago, but I remembered how cool the idea was ! She has a video on her blog too about how to do it. Its so easy !! I punched out a pennant from the Petite Pennant Builder Punch in the Baked Brown Sugar and embossed it with the Square Lattice folder. I then cut a strip of my ice cream color to 1-3/4" wide. I fed that into my Scalloped Oval punch, so it would only cut a scalloped curved edge. Then this was punched using the 1-1/4" Circle Punch !! CUTE right !?! I then used the sprinkles image from the Create A Cupcake stamp set to look like little pieces of stuff in the ice cream. Adorable !
Well thats my cute layout for today !! I love how it turned out, and I think I may use this cool layout again !! Its a great way to use up scraps of papers. Thanks a lot for coming by today !! Remember, this is the LAST day that you can enter to win my Blog-o-versary Giveaway ! If you haven't yet, do that right over here. I am so excited by all the people that have commented in that post ! So please, comment on THIS post and then go over and comment on that one. Hahahahaha. Have a great day and Happy Stamping !!
