Happy Dirtday !!

Hey Stampers,

Happy Saturday to you !! It is a BEAUTIFUL day here today. The sun is shining and its nice and warm !! I am planning on doing a bit of grocery shopping and then spending the day outside with my family. I see a BBQ in my near future !! Last night my hubby went out, so one Jackson was in bed I worked on my swaps for Convention !! Swaps are when you make a lot of one particular card and then trade with other demos so you get a lot of DIFFERENT cards !! I am doing one for Team Canada (I FINISHED them last night!) and another one for the Inky Divas group. I can't wait to see what all the other demos have created !! I will show you my swaps before I leave - don't worry ! LOL

The card I am showing you today uses a recently retired stamp set - I Dig You. Jackson is invited to a little boy's birthday party tomorrow and when I went to make the cad I realized that I have NO CURRENT  little kid sets !! What a travesty !! And there are some super cute ones in the new catty too !! So I know that I need to get some on my next order ! But luckily - I still have some great retried or "vintage" kids sets. One of my favs is the I Dig You set ! Its so great for little boys. I don't think I will ever get rid of it !! Take a look at the cool card I made with it !!

Isn't that awesome ?? I am really loving it. I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-7/8" x 2-3/4" and stamped my digger and presents on it. The new Crushed Curry color is SO PERFECT for the machinery ! Looks just like the Caterpillar machinery color, doesn't it !? I inked up the digger with it, and then used my Basic Gray marker for the wheels. The presents I coloured with the Gumball Green, Crushed Curry and Midnight Muse markers. I tore a thin strip of Early Espresso cardstock and added it to the bottom of my stamped piece to look like the dirt. Cute ! I also broke out my Color Spritzer tool to give a grungy look to the piece. I then layer this onto a piece of Gumball Green measuring 4-1/8" x 3". Since it's the little boy's first birthday, I had to add a 1 on the card. So I stamped the 1 from the ABC 123 Sketch Alphabet & Numbers set in Gumball Green ink, punched it out with the 3/4" Circle Punch and layered it onto a 1" Circle of Midnight Muse. This was added to my stamped panel with a Dimensional.

My main layer is a piece of Crushed Curry measuring 4" x 5-1/2". I embossed it with the Houndstooth embossing folder - a very masculine look that really matches this card I think ! I added it to an Early Espresso card base. The cute sentiment is from the I Dig You set as well. I stamped it in Early Espresso ink and punched it out with the Word Window Punch. I used my Color Spritzer tool again to splatter the piece. LOVE that funky look !! This was then layered onto a Midnight Muse Modern Label Punch. Both of my stamped pieces were added to my card with some Dimensionals. And then it was all done !

I love this card, don't you !? So perfect for any little boy. Well I must be going !! Want to make the most of this beautiful day. Thanks a lot for coming by today ! have a great weekend and Happy Stamping !!
