Falling for You

Hey Stampers,

Happy Saturday !! And if you are in Canada, happy first day of a LONG weekend !! It is still rainy here today (SO READY for actual summer weather!) but I am continuing with my bright cards to trey and ward off the grey and gloom !! LOL I love the new colors SO much - and my color combo today is no exception ! I used Bermuda Bay, Tangerine Tango and Crushed Curry. A beautiful fresh combo, very vibrant ! Even though it's not fall, I wanted to use some of my fav items - leaves !! So I used the Autumn Accents die, Gently Falling stamp sets and some Woodgrain accents. I think they are great for any time of year ! 

I semi-CASEd this idea from a card I saw on Pinterest by Stampin' Up! To be honest, I am not TOTALLY thrilled with the results. LOL I love the card, but on the original one the words were close together and I wish mine were as well. Just goes to show than not ever card is a masterpiece ! Hahaha. But it took me FOUR tries to get the words straight and not smudged (yes, even with my Stamp-a-ma-jig ... I was having an off day ... ) so by the time I had this one stamped, I was too irritated to change it again just because they words were farther apart than I liked. BUT one day I may make another version where my words are the way I actually want them LOL. Take look at what I came up with and see if you like it !

So, what are YOUR thoughts !?! Hahaha. First, I die cut the maple leaf from the Autumn Accents Die in a piece of Whisper White. I used my new ABC-123 Sketch Alphabet and Numbers set to stamp out the "for you" in Tangerine Tango and Bermuda Bay inks. Love that sketch alpha !! Then I used the Woodgrain background stamp inked up in Crushed Curry to add a bit more texture to the leaf. Love that effect ! My stamped layer is a piece of Crushed Curry measuring 3-1/4" x 4-1/4" and I stamped the outline maple leaf from Gently Falling all over it, also with Crushed Curry ink. I layered a couple strips of the Tangerine Tango polka dot DSP (from the vintage Brights Patterns DSP Stack) behind my stamped piece. I then took my 1/2" Circle Punch an put some half circles there, so I could use them as tabs to hold my Early Espresso Bakers Twine in place. I had seen this done before, but never tried it myself. LOVE the effect ! So clever ! I wrapped my Bakers Twine around a couple times, and then tied it through a large Naturals Designer Button in a bow. Cute right !?! My card base it a piece of Bermuda Bay, and I embossed the front of it with the Woodgrain embossing folder. Love all the touches of wood with the leaves ! Fabulous !

Well thats my project for today ! Do you think I should have re-stamped the leaf (for the FIFTH time remember!) to get the words closer ?? Or is this one good !? Leave me a comment and let me know !! Thanks a lot for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

  2. I think the words are fine and that's what makes the card unique. Love the bright colors to. I haven't gotten Bermuda Bay yet.
