Hey Stampers !
Happy Friday to you all !! Its not a very happy one for me, because I am SICK. I have a bad flu - couching, sore throat, runny nose, sleepy, watery eyes ... the whole bit. I was off work yesterday, and instead of getting anything accomplished - I was sick instead ! I hate that. I am working today, but still sick. Boo hoo for me! The card I am showing you today would brighten ANYONES day though, even mine ! There is no sentiment on it, but it would be PERFECT for a Mother's Day card, or get well, or thinking of you ... anything really. It uses the Mixed Bunch stamp set - which I LOVE (and am so happy it gets to stick around in our new Annual Catty) but does use a few fun retiring accessories. Take a look at this beauty !
Isn't that lovely !?! And I just realized that you can see my son's eye peeing out on the side of this picture LOL. Hope that doesn't creep you out! Haha The colors combo here is very soft and spring like - Island Indigo, So Saffron, Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade and Crumb Cake. The DSP layer reminds me of Bashful Blue, but it is from the Tea For Two paper in the Spring Mini. I cut this DSP at 5-7/8" square and layered it onto my 6" square card base. I needed a BIG card for these images, and I think an oversized card can be so stunning!
I stamped my 3 daisies onto very Vanilla card stock and used my well loved Blossom Punch to pop them out. I used the retiring In Color Printed Designer Brads for the centres of the Island Indigo and Calypso Coral flowers and a So Saffron button (tied with Early Espresso Bakers twine) for the So Saffron flower. I really love how they turned out ! I used Lucky Limeade for the flower stems and leaves. I cut the leaves with my 1-1/4" Circle Punch, and then fed them into the punch again to make the leaf shape. I then scored them on my Simply Scored to give them the leaf vein. I cut a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock to a flower pot shape using a piece measuring 4" x 3", and then cutting the ends on a diagonal. I also cut a piece measuring 4-1/2"x 1" for the top of the pot. I ran these pieces through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder and sponged them with Crumb Cake ink. I tied a cute bow onto the pot with some 3/8" Calypso Coral Ruffled Ribbon. I LOVE this ribbon so much, and its retiring, so make sure you get some in the In Colors before they are gone ! And since only the Lucky Limeade color is ACTUALLy retiring, thanks to the color refresh, you can use these lovely ribbons for a long time! Yay !!
Well thats my fun card for today. Don't you think this would be lovely for any occasion ?? Why don't you make one too !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!
