Fabulous Mom Card

Hey Stampers,

Happy Monday to you all ! I hope you get some time this week to do some stamping, because Mother's Day is this weekend ! I have a couple of my Mothers Day projects done, and have at least one more left to make ... so make sure you come back this week for some inspiration if you are stuck on a card to make for YOUR mom ! The card I am showing you today is one I did with my Stamp Club girls last month. It uses the great Morning Post stamp set (quickly becoming my go to alphabet set, now that my Broadsheet Alphabet is retiring) and the Patio Party DSP. I love how it turned out !! Take a look !

Isn't that lovely ?! Lots of fun elements going on here. First, I made my flower. I took some Primrose Petals cardstock and punched out a 1-1/4" Scallop Circle and a 7/8" Scallop Circle. I snipped them between every second scallop to make them look like petals, and then I fluffed and crumpled them up. I adhered them together using a Dimensional. I added a Summer Starfruit flower from the Boho Blossoms punch to the middle, a small circle that I punched from the Owl Punch in Midnight Muse in the middle of that and then a Rhinestone to top it all off. I used this fun flower as the O of my Mom ... cute right !?! I stamped 2 M's from Morning Post onto a small piece of Whisper White and then put my flower in the middle. I layered that onto a piece of Baja Breeze. The only other bit of stamping was the word "fabulous" from the Fabulous Phrases stamp set. I stamped that in Primrose Petals ink, punched it out with the Word Window punch and layered it onto a Midnight Muse Modern Label Punch. A couple more Rhinestones finished off this piece as well.

My 2 pieces of DSP are from the beautiful patio Party DSP. I have used these papers a LOT this year, and if you love them too but haven't picked them up yet - do it soon !! They are retiring as of June 3rd and are only while supplies last. I cut 2 pieces, the Summer Starfruit pattern at 1" x 5-1/4" (layered onto a piece of 1-1/4"wide Midnight Muse) and the flowery pattern at 2-1/2" x 4" (layered onto a piece of 2-1/5" wide Midnight Muse). My Whisper White layer was embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder (also retiring) and adhered to my Baja Breeze card base. I love how feminine yet funky these papers make this card look !! And the color combo of Summer Starfruit, Midnight Muse, Primrose Petals and Baja Breeze is one of my absolute favourites.

Thats my card for today ! I am pretty sure this one will be going to my mother, as she will like the funky-ness of this piece. My mother in law is a bit more traditional in her taste, so I am excited to see what I will create for her ! Make sure you come back soon to see it !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!
