Retirement Rewind #9 - Totally Tess

Hey Stampers,

My April Stamp Club is tomorrow night, so I thought I would show you the Hostess Gift that I made for one of my girls !! I used the awesome (now retired) set Totally Tess. This set is SO cute! I didn't bother to get it until it was on the Retirement List last year, but I am so glad I did !! Its the cutest woman and a bunch of stamping supplies !! I think its so clever. I made a Wish List out of it, a covered note book to hold a Stampin' Up! wish list !! I also used the retiring colors of Baja Breeze and Not Quite Navy with some Rose Red as well. I love how it turned out !! Take a look !!

Isn't that adorable !?! She is so cool. I did some fun Paper Piecing here for her clothes too, which is a technique that I LOVE. First, I stamped Tess using some Jet Black StazOn Ink onto some Whisper White cardstock. Then I stamped her a couple more times: once on some Rose Red patterned paper from the Floral District DSP for her shirt and again on some Not Quite Nave patterned paper from the  Parker's Patterns DSP. I also stamped the little tote bag onto some Baja Breeze paper from the Floral District DSP. I stamped the cute "I Heart Stamps" sentiment in the middle of it. I then cut these 3 pieces out with my Paper Snips and adhered them down to my Tess using my 2 Way Glue Pen. I put the bag through the little sleeve of her sweater before I adhered it down, so it could be looped over her arm. A Dimensional under the bag gives it some dimension. LOVE that! I then used my Blush Blossom Stampin' Write Marker to color in her skin, and my Soft Suede ink pad and Blender Pen to color in her hair and the "ground" under her. I then die cut the image with my Ovals Collection framelit, and then a Rose Red piece to layer under it. I embossed the Rose Red oval with the Square Lattice embossing folder and layered my stamped piece on top of it. I stamped the sentiment fro the set in Baja Breeze ink onto some Whisper White and punched it out with my Modern Label punch. I layered that onto a Rose Red Large Oval Punch and a Floral Fusion DSP Scalloped Oval Punch.

The note holder itself is made using a piece of Baja Breeze that measures 9" x 6-1/4". I scored it at 4-1/8" and 4-7/8" on the long side, and folded on my score lines. This holds a 4" x 6" note pad, which I adhered to the inside with some Sticky Strip. I then cut a piece of Not Quite Navy cardstock to 3-3/4" x 5-3/4" and embossed it with my Honeycomb embossing folder. I took some 5/8" Whisper White Organza Ribbon and wrapped it around my note book. I tied it in a bow, and used the dimensionals on the back of my Oval layer to hold it in place. The ribbon slides easily underneath the Ovals for untying and retying. Makes it very easy to use !!  I hope my Hostess likes it !!

Well, thats my cute project for today. I hope you enjoyed it !! Thanks for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!
