Papillon Potpourri Rainbow Card

Hey Stampers,

Good Monday to you ! I hope you had a great weekend. I was lucky enough to have some time yesterday to do some playing in my Stamp Room !! I say playing, because I am just adding to my stash of fun cards as opposed to making cards for certain reasons. I love doing that !! Its so much less stressful when I can just play with stamp sets that call out to me as opposed to ones that I need for a certain project of person ! I really wanted to use my Feel Goods stamp set yesterday. The awesome Spring Catalogue will be finished in a couple weeks, so I want to make sure that I use my products from there (though I still have my fingers crossed that lots of these great sets will make it into the Annual Catalogue coming out May 31st). I thought I would try my hand at a fun sponged rainbow background too, and this is what I came up with !! I LOVE it, what do you think ?!?

Isn't that just lovely ?!!? It is so colorful !! My color combo of Island Indigo, Summer Starfruit, Rose Red, Perfect Plum and Lucky Limeade is so vibrant, I just love it ! To make that fun background, I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-3/4" x 5" and sponged my colors on it. I just used my Stamping Sponges and rubbed them on ... really easy !! I tried to sponge in a circular motion as much as I could, it gives a more even coverage. Then it was time for some Heat Embossing ! I took my Feel Goods stamp and inked it up in VersaMark ink and embossed it with my Black Stampin' Emboss Powder. It is SO nice and glossy in person, I just love it !! Then I got out my Papillon Potpourri stamp set so I could emboss some butterflies. I took a small scrap of each of my colors of cardstock, and embossed 2 larger butterflies and 3 smaller butterflies all with my Black powder. Then I punched them out with the Elegant Butterfly and Bitty Butterfly punches.

I adhered my sponged piece to a piece of Basic Black card stock measuring 4" x 5-1/4", and wrapped it with a piece of my 3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon. I also tied a cute bow with the ribbon, and adhered it to my layer with a Glue Dot. I then scattered my punched butterflies across my rainbow layer, and adhered them with Glue Dots as well. I still felt it needed something else, so I covered all of the butterflies with some Dazzling Details glitter glue. They are SO nice and sparkly !! Then everything was adhered to a Whisper White card base. LOVE this vibrant and beautiful card !!

Thats it for me today ! I made a few more items with some SPring Catalogue products, so please come back and see those soon !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!
