Notable Alphabet & Twitterpated Quilt Card

Hey Stampers,

Happy Friday to you all !! After all the exciting news about the Color Refresh yesterday, I was so wound up I could hardly sleep !! I kept repeating the new color families over and over to myself so I have it down pat already. I also am so happy because I get to show you a sweet card using some of the RETURNING colors !! I am still so in love with Blushing Bride and Pear Pizzazz (In Colors from 2010) and now they will be back again in the Subtles Collection in the new Catalogue !! I created this card for a friend who needed a sewing card for a quilting buddy of hers. I thought the Twitterpated DSP would had some patterns that would be perfect for a quilt card ! And the colors of Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride and Island Indigo (an In Color now but will be in the new Regals Collection) are so great together in that DSP ! Take a look at this cute quilt !!

Isn't that great !? I took my 1-1/4" Square Punch and punched a bunch of the Twitterpated DSP patterns. I adhered them to a scrap piece of Blushing Bride (but it can be any color, you never will see it) and ran it through my Big Shot with the Top Note Die. I then took my Basic Black Stampin' Write Marker and did all the "stitching" on all the joins. But where the real quilted look comes in is the embossing. I embossed the piece with the Square Lattice embossing folder, which really puts this quilt idea over the top! Isn't that awesome !?! I then layered it onto a piece of Whisper White measuring 4" x 5-1/4" that I embossed on all 4 edges with the cross-stitch look folder from the Needlepoint Border Embossing Folder pack with some Dimensionals. All of this was put onto a Pear Pizzazz card base.

My sentiment was made using the Notable Alphabet stamp set. I stamped the word "Sew" in Baja Breeze (which is RETIRING so get it now while supplies last!) and punched it out with my 1" Square Punch. These pieces were layered onto some Blushing Bride pieces that I punched using my Postage Stamp Punch. I adhered these cute stamps together in a fun overlapping pattern, and adhered it to my "quilt" using dimensionals. It still needed a tiny bit something extra, so a bow of 3/8" Island Indigo Ruffled Ribbon added the finishing touch. Love it !!

Here is a picture of the inside. I wanted the "sew" on the front to add to the sentiment on the inside, so it says "sew, there's only one you friend". These 2 sentiments are from 2 retired sets; Vintage Verses from this years Saleabration and Affection Collection from the Holiday Catalogue. I also made a beautiful envelope with the Twitterpated DSP. Love having a coordinating envelope !!

Well, thats my fun project for today ! I hope you liked it. Are you as excited as I am about the Color Refresh Stampin' Up! announced yesterday ?? Tell me in the comments what colors your going to miss and what ones you are SO ECSTATIC are returning !! Thanks for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!
