Little Boy Bunting

Hey Stampers,

Today I am going to show you a fun project that I did in my son's bedroom. We did his "big boy" room this past fall, and I am totally in love with it. I am not really a fan of wallpaper (putting it on or the eventual taking it off) but I wanted something fun and colorful to spruce up his walls. So I had the fun idea of making some "bunting" or pennants to hang up ! It was SO quick and easy and I love how it turned out !! I get to many compliments on it and it really couldn't have been easier to create. Take a look !!

Isn't that SO super fun !?! All I did was take his pillow sham (see there in the bottom right corner) down to my craft room and pick out a ton of DSP that would match it !! Current, retired, whatever I had that was the right colouring (and not girly). I then cut a bunch of pieces to 4" x 6" and made my banners !! I liked the look of the traditional pennant (the V shape) and the square banner. For the pennant I marked my DSP with a pencil in the middle, and then cut from the top corner to the middle on both sides with my Paper Trimmer. For the Banner, I again marked the middle and but up 1-1/2". I then cut from the corner up to my slit with my Paper Snips ! Very quick and easy.

My next step was to figure out how to hang them ! I decided that a really long piece would be too hard to handle, so I grouped them in sets of 4 to hang individually. I used the awesome 1/4" Night of Navy Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon to hand them off of. I put some Sticky Strip across the top of of each banner, and then added a Silver Mini Brad to each corner. The brads are more for looks than to actually hold them up, but I really like the added touch ! I then draped them on Jackson's wall and attached them to his crown moulding with some push pins. I just LOVE the effect and he loved them too !! And if I ever want to change them, it will be so easy. There are just tiny little pin holes in the bottom of his moulding, you wouldn't even notice them !

Here is the last view. I just did 2 wall, where his other walls have doors and windows. It looks SO wonderful and everyone who sees it loves it !!

Well thats my fun project for today !! Thanks a lot for coming by and Happy Stamping !!

  1. Catherine ~ This is absolutely adorable! I would never have thought it would look so cute to put up a simple banner like that. It adds that extra-special touch to the decor. I might have to do this in my craft room! :)
