Fresh French Foliage

Hey Stampers,

Have you all had a chance yet to go through the Retirement Lists ?? One of my favourite sets that is retiring is French Foliage. It is such a great set, and you know me ... I love my leaves ! The best thing about French Foliage is how realistic the images are. They look like you took ACTUAL leaves and used them to stamp. They are so lovely, that I know I will be showcasing this set a few times before it is gone on June 3rd. The card I made with it today really showcases the lovely images in a simple but elegant design. I decided to go a bit "spring" with my color combo - and chose Wild Wasabi, Garden Green, Crumb Cake and Chocolate Chip. I also used a lovely sentiment from the (not retiring) Blooming With Kindness set. I love how it turned out ... take a look for yourself !!

Isn't that a lovely card ?!? And it can be masculine or feminine. And SO quick and easy to make !! I took a piece of Very Vanilla card stock measuring 3-3/4" x 5" for my stamped layer. First, I stamped my sentiment in the bottom left corner, so I would know exactly hoe much room I needed. Then I stamped all over with the script stamp in Crumb Cake. That stamp really gives a great background. I then used the larger leaf image (the Aspen leaf I believe)  and stamped that in Wild Wasabi ink randomly. Then I filled in the gaps with the Birch leaf image, stamped in GArden Green. I LOVE these crisp colors, so realistic ! So glad they are sticking around. My last bit of stamping was with the splatter image, which I did in Chocolate Chip. I just love how the stamping turned out on this card !! So lovely.

Next, was time for a bit on embellishment !! I used one of my FAVOURITE embellishments, an Antique Brad, right next to my sentiment. I felt this card needed that extra something, and those brads never disappoint. I then layered my stamped card stock onto a piece of Garden Green measuring 4" x 5-1/5". I then wrapped some 1/2" Crumb Cake Seam Binding around this layer, and tied a bow. I really like how soft and delicate this ribbon is. You can even tee the stamping right through it ! Very beautiful. This was all adhered to a Chocolate Chip card base with some Dimensionals. So easy right ??

Well, thats my card for today. You can change up the sentiment for almost any occasion - birthday (especially for a man - you could leave off the ribbon of you think thats too feminine), sympathy or thinking of you. A very versatile card. I hope you like it !! And remember, the Retirement List for Accessories is while supplies last ONLY so head on over to my Online Store before something you can't live without is gone forever !! Have a wonderful day and Happy Stamping !!
