Curly Cute Smooches Birthday Card

Hey Stampers,

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. We had a lovely day yesterday - Jackson went to a birthday party, and then we all were outside all evening. Jack just loves throwing rocks into the little brook in our back yard. Every time he gets a nice big SPLASH he gets so excited ! LOL Then after Jackson was in bed, the hubby and I had a little fire in our fire pit and some roasted weenies. It was a lovely night ! No wind and you only needed a light sweater. You would never know that it was only April ! Today we are just relaxing around the house so far. I am going to make waffles for a late Brunch. Yum !! I wanted to go a quick blog post first though. The card I am showing you today uses the Curly Cute stamp set, which is retiring. This set is close to my heard because it is the FIRST Stampin' Up! stamp set that I ever bought ! Can you remember the first set you ever purchased ? Who knew that it would bring me to where I am today ! It also uses the beautiful Summer Smooches DSP, which is also retiring. Please grab up these wonderful products before they are gone forever !! Have a look at this bright birthday card I came up with !!

Isn't that fun !? And very simple. I used the Bright Blossoms stamp set to create my little flowers. The color combo of Lucky Limeade, Real Red, Island Indigo, Tangerine Tango and Rich Razzleberry is SO bright and cheerful, isn't it ?? I stamped my leaves first in the Lucky Limeade, and then stamped my tulips in the other colors above them. The lovely Curly Cute happy birthday is so nice here, but any of the great sentiments would work well (well, except for "Seasons Greetings" hahaha).  I then layered my piece of Whisper White onto a piece of Basic Black for a nice pop. I love adding Black to cards ... especially with bright bold color combos.

For my main layer, I used a piece of Whisper White measuring 4" x 5-1/4". My 4 pieces of DSP were then cut at 1-3/4" x 5" and adhered to the Whisper White. I love the bold patterns of this dsp. I wrapped a piece of the 3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffles Ribbon around this layer, and then adhered it to my Basic Black card base. My stamped layer was added with some Dimensionals. Very easy ! Love it. And of course, some Rhinestone for some sparkle on my flowers.

Thats my card for today ! If you haven't already purchased these wonderful retiring items, please visit my online store and get then before June 3rd ! And the accessories (like this great DSP and ribbon) are only while supplies last, so don't wait too long !! Have a wonderful day and Happy Stamping !!
