Build A Blossom Scallop Square Box

Hey Stampers,

As you know, I LOVE making fun gifts and surprises for my friends and co-workers. I was looking through my Big Shot dies a little while ago and thought that the Scallop Square Clear Bigz Die would make a GREAT gift bag/box! I am sure I am not the first to come up with this fun idea, but instead of going to find a tutorial on how to do it ... I just came up with it myself ! I love just having an idea and trying to make it work. I knew I wanted to decorate the box with the awesome Build A Blossom stamp set (and matching Blossom Petals Punch) as well, and I just LOVE what I created !! Take a look !!

I love this stunning project. I gave it to a friend of mine and she LOVED it too !! First, how I created the box. I used my fav color of Rose Red to cut out 2 of the Scallop Squares. Then I took another piece of Rose Red measuring 2-1/2" x 12" for the sides of my box. I scored it at 4" and 8" on one side and at 1/2" and 2-1/4" on the other side. I folded on all of my score lines, put sticky strip on the two 1/4"x12" tabs. I sniped these 1/4" tabs at the 4" and 8" scores so they would fold up to make the sides of my box!  Then it was time to put it all together !! A piece of the Rose Red punched with my fav retired punch, the Lace Ribbon Border Punch, made the perfect handle. I adhered it with some Glue Dots, but reinforced it with some sparkly green brads from the Brights Glimmer Brads. See the next picture to see a side view of the box !

To decorate, I cut a 3-7/8" square piece of Gumball Green patterned paper from the Print Poetry DSP Stack and adhered it to the front of my box. Then it was time for my flower !! These flowers that you can make using the Build A Blossom set and Blossom Petals punch are SO stunning ! I used to make them ALL THE TIME but haven't made one in a while. Now I cant remember why ! They are so fun to make and really make a HUGE impact ! I used my Regal Rose ink to stamp 10 of the solid petal images. I then stamped the detail petal image in Rose Red onto 5 of them. I punched them all out with my Blossom Petals punch, and adhered them to a 1-3/8" Circle Punch (just scrap of any color). I fluffed up the petals with my Bone Folder and then put an Antique Brad  int he middle. I adhered the flower to my box with some Dimensionals. I then stamped 3 of the solid leaves in Old Olive ink and topped them  with the vein pattern in Gumball Green. I punched them out ant adhered them to the box using Glue Dots. I then took a thin strip of Whisper White and stamped the Create sentiment from the Loving Thoughts stamp set in Gumball Green ink. I pointed the front of the strip, gave it banner ends, and tucked it under the Antique Brad with a Glue Dot. So beautiful !!

I put a Medium Cello Bag filled with treats (mmmm ... chocolate covered pretzels ... ) and tied with a 3/8" Gumball Green Stitched Satin bow inside and it was ready to give to someone special !!

Thats by project for today !! I really love how it turned out. My friend just loved it ! Thanks so much for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!
