Best Dad Ever Tie Hanger Card

Hey Stampers,

Happy Friday everyone ! Even though Father's Day isn't until June, the card I am sharing with you today would be perfect for the special Dad in your life. I recently purchased the adorable Hung Up Cute Clips and I thought that the hanger would be PERFECT to pair up with the ties from the Best Dad Ever stamp set ! Since they will be gone at the end of this month (unless the SU Gods see fit to put them in the new Catalogue), I wanted to show you this cute idea while they were still available for purchase ! I am still trying to use the soon to be retired colors while I still can, hoping I will get them out of my system. LOL My color combo today is ALL retired colors - More Mustard, Bravo Burgundy, Not Quite Navy and River Rock. I only used the smallest scrap of Very Vanilla to stamp my ties on. I seriously LOVE the say this fun card turned out ... take a look !!

Isn't that great ?!? The tie stamp is actually 5 ties all together, but I just stamped it 3 times to get the ties I wanted and then cut them out. They are SO simple to cut out too, doesn't take very long at all. I then adhered a tiny strip of paper on the back of each tie to "hang" over the clip. I adhered one end to the tie with some Tombo Mono Multi Glue, then slipped it through the bottom of the hanger folded it over and adhered the other end. Then they were hanging freely from the clip so I could position them right where I wanted onto mu card base later. I then took a thin strip of River Rock cardstock (measured 3/4" x 4-3/4") and stamped my sentiment in Not Quite Navy ink. This was is for my stamping on this card.

My layer of River Rock measures 3-1/2" x 4-3/4" and it was embossed with the Houndstooth embossing folder, This was then layered onto a piece of Bravo Burgundy measuring 3-3/4" x 5" which was layered onto a piece of Not Quite Navy measuring 4" x 5-1/4". ALL of this was then adhered to my More Mustard card base with some Dimensionals. Lots of layering for this card, and I love the effect. I added my sentiment piece with some Dimensionals as well. I used some of the retired Designer Ribbon Slides (they were in the Holiday Catalogue this past year) that I fed some thin strips of Moe Mustard through on either side of my sentiment. Love those, and the way they add a but more metal to the card. Shine but not bling ! This is a man card after all. Then I used some Dimensionals to adhere my ties, and I was all done !! I did find the hanger was a little floppy, so I tucked a Glue Dot under the middle tie right at the top for some added stability. Easy peasy!

Well thats my great Father's Day card for today. It would also make a great birthday card or any other sentiment for a man ! Love it. Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

  2. yes, those hangers are pretty cute, but i'm really liking the designer slide buttons too. I don't remember seeing them before and it's sad that they're retiring. I'm assuming they are, are they? If not, I'll have to get some! lol. really cute card for dad too.

    1. Yes, they were in the Holiday Catalogue ! You missed them. But maybe you will be lucky and your awesome Sister In Law will give you a couple hahaha
