Beautiful Swallowtail Birthday

Hey Stampers,

Its very nice and warm here today, super Spring like ! I have to work today, but tonight is Date Night with my hubby! We are going to go out for a late supper, we even have a babysitter !! It should be fun ! The beautiful card I am showing you today is with the awesome Swallowtail background stamp. If you haven't picked this beauty up you TOTALLY should. Its in the Spring Catalogue, so it will be gone on April 30th. I REALLY have my fingers crossed that this one will make it into the Annual Catalogue though. It is TOO gorgeous to be gone so soon !! Since this stamp is SO huge, I decided to make a HUGE card to match it !! The finished size of this beauty is 6" square. I used the color combo of Baja Breeze (which is retiring and I will miss SO much), Summer Starfruit and Elegant Eggplant. I really love this sophisticated combo, and I think it works really well on this card. Take a look !

I really LOVE how this turned out. I used my Stampin' Write Markers to color in my butterfly, and then stamped it onto a piece of Whisper White measuring 5-1/4" square. I then stamped the funky birthday sentiment from the Sassy Salutations stamp set with Elegant Eggplant ink. This piece then got layered onto a 5-1/2" square piece of Summer Starfruit card stock. I then took all of my markers again, and splattered my layer with lots of fun color using my Color Spritzer Tool. I sure do love that thing !! I may have to keep it right out on my desk to remind myself to use it more. I dug out a couple of the retired Baja Breeze Glimmer Brads to place on either side of my sentiment. They were so easy to place using my Paper Piercing Tool to poke the holes. I just had to use some ribbon here, and the delicious 3/8" Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon was the perfect option. I wrapped a piece around my layer, and then added a bow with a Glue Dot. I adhered all of this to a piece of Elegant Eggplant measuring 5-3/4" square, and then adhered all o my layers to my card base. I used a piece of Baja Breeze measuring 6" x 12" that I scored in half for that. Big and beautiful !!

Well thats my bard for today. It was really quick and easy to put together, but so beautiful it looks like it took me a while to create ! I love cards like that, don't you ?? Thanks a lot for coming by to "see me" today !! Have a great weekend and Happy Stamping !!
