Hey Stampers,
Happy Monday !! Hope you had a great weekend !! I had a great one ... lots of time stamping and having fun with my hubby and little boy. I got to play along with a BUNCH of challenges this weekend too !! So expect to see them this week. My card today was inspired by the fun sketch of at Create with Connie and Mary. It's a super cute and easy sketch, and I love how versatile it is !! I decided on a bright and cheerful birthday card using the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and the great A Word for You sentiment stamp set. I really think its a cute card !! Take a look !!
Isn't that fun !? I had the idea first because of the "cherry on top" sentiment and these cute cherries from the Perfectly Preserved set. I used my Lucky Limeade and Real Red markers to ink up the cherries and stamped them on Whisper White 4 times. I then took my 1" Square Punch and punched it out at different angles so each square would look a little different. I then layered those onto Island Indigo pieces that I punched out with my Postage Stamp Punch. I layered these fun pieces onto a strip of Whisper White measuring 2-1/2" x 5-1/2" that I embossed with the Chevron embossing folder. This was then layered onto a 3" x 5-1/2" strip of Summer Smooches DSP. Love that fun pattern !! I piece of the 1/8" Real Red Taffeta Ribbon tied in a knot really finishes off this fun layered panel.
For my sentiment, I took my Lucky Limeade card base, and did some heat embossing !! I used my Versamark ink and White embossing powder and heat set this fun sentiment. I then took a scrap of the Red Glimmer Paper and punched out 2 cherries from the Cupcake Punch and adhered them on using some Glue Dots. Very sparkly !! Fun !!
Well, thats my cute card for today !! Won't you play along with us over at Create with Connie and Mary ?? Thanks for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

DeleteIt is a very easy sketch to do so many things with. And I agree with you on that Happy Birthday stamp - I only want to use it if I but a cherry with it. Nice job with the sketch - so glad you joined us this week at Create with Connie & Mary.
