Spooky Bingo Bits Top Note Treat Holder

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Hallowe'en !! Hope you all have a Spooktacular Day !! LOL I spent some time last night making some last minute treats. They were SO easy and cute that I had to share them on here, even if you probably won't be able to make any before the Trick or Treaters come knocking on your door tonight. But they can be decorated for any occasion ! They are made using the Top Note Die and hold all sorts of yummy goodies ... have a look !!

Are they cute or what !?! I die cut a piece of cardstock and a piece of the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP with the Top Note Die by running it through my Big shot. The best thing, is that you can cut a bunch of layers at one time with that die, so you can make quite a few all at the same time! I then hand cut around the stitching on the DSP layer so that when I adhered them together, you would have a cardstock border. A bit more time consuming, but I thought it was worth it. And I was only making a few !! Hahaha. I scored a 1/2" in the middle of the die cut (thats how wide I needed for my treats) and folded using my bone folder. I used the Spooky Bingo Bits stamp set for my decoration. I inked the words from the set (which include Boo, Eeek, Spooky and Candy) in Old Olive and then put an image behind the words with Basic Gray ink (the two shown here use a spider web and a bat). I then punched out my image with the 1" Circle Punch and layered it onto an Old Olive 1-1/4" Scallop Circle. This got popped on with a dimensional. Then it was time to put in the candy !!

I used the (sadly retired) It's A Wrap Holidays set to wrap u my Hershey Nuggets. The paper got wrapped around for your own little "custom made" chocolates !! The original Its A Wrap Occasions is still in the Annual Catalogue, so check that out if you want some custom candy !! I then ran some adhesive on the inside so the chocolates would stick and not fall out to get lost inside a Trick or Treat bag. Lastly I wrapped a piece of 3/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon around the bundle to finish it off !! Love it !!

I really love how these treats turned out. They would be great for table favors or co-worker gifts for any occasion as well !! Thanks a lot for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Wacky Wishes Hallowe'en Card

Hey Stampers,

I'm back !! I had a great time in Montreal this weekend. I was beat out with work and everything, but it was still great !! I was sure glad to get home Sunday night though (well, Monday morning ... I walked into my house at 2:02am. OUCH !!) Tomorrow is Hallowe'en which means its also my BIRTHDAY !! YAY !! Even though I will be turning 29 (for the first time ... hahaha) I still LOVE my birthday !! So, I have one more Hallowe'en card to show you today !! This one is a bit more "elegant" and grown-up. What do you think ??

I love how classy this card is !! And also how easy. The color combo of Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Old Olive, Basic Gray and Elegant Eggplant also SCREAMS Hallowe'en. Hahaha. Get it ?? Screams !?!? I am so funny. LOL Anyways, this card uses two stamp sets, and they are both Hostess sets !! The Wacky Wishes is a total must have covering a bunch of holidays and occasions and is a hostess set from the Annual Catalogue. That font is SO fun !! Love it. The other set is Mixed Medley and is in the Holiday Catalogue. All of the images in that set co-ordinate with either the 3/4" Circle punch or the brand new 1-1/4" Scallop Circle punch. The images in this set are versatile as well, including Halloween, Christmas, Birthday, Valentines and more !!

This layout has been circling the Stampin' Up! world for a while, and I love how simple and sweet it is! The banners are all made from DSP from the Color Family Stacks. They weren't all exactly even on the top, but the strip of 1/2" Basic Black Scallop Dots ribbon hides any imperfection or crookedness. So great ! My "Treats for Boo" image used a bunch of punches for layering. They are 3/4" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Scallop Circle punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch and 1-3/4" Scallop Circle Punch. I think it turned out so great !!

I hope you like todays card !! I know most people don't send out Hallowe'en cards, but I think any occasion is a great time to show someone you have been thinking of them and to wish them a Happy Hallowe'en !! Have a great day and Happy Stamping !!

Perfectly Preserved Spider

Hey Stampers,

Good day ! This will be my last post for a few days because I am going to Montreal this weekend !! It's only for work, so not an ACTUAL vacation, but it still should be pretty fun ! I will be back again on Monday though, so make sure you come back then !! My card today is another Hallowe'en one. I had seen so many cute ideas using the Perfectly Preserved set for Halloween, so I decided I would try it out too !! I paired it with the Googly Ghouls set, and I think it turned out super cute !! Take a look !!

Cute huh !?! I love everything about it !! LOL. I stamped the jar in Jet Black StazOn and then put the little spider inside it. The "web string" that was on the spider wasn't long enough for me, so I used my Black Stampin' Write Marker to make it longer. LOL I love how the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP looks on the end, for the splash of color. And the Spider Web embossing folder is so fun behind the spider image !! I broke up the DSP and embossed piece with a strip of Tangerine Tango that I punched with my Scallop Edge border punch.

The sentiment image is from the Mixed Medley Hostess stamp set, so I got to use yet another spider web image !! I love tying all of my elements together !! LOL That stamp set coordinates with the brand new 1-1/4" Scallop Circle punch thats in the Holiday catalogue.  Its so adorable !! It makes great flowers and also looks awesome with our other Scallop Circle punches.

This card was so quick and simple to make, but packs a big impact ! Thanks for dropping by today! Have a good day and Happy Stamping !!

Super Glam Lovely as a Tree

Hey Stampers,

Good day ! Another quick Christmas card today !! This card is SUPER quick actually, but is SO impressive ... love when that combination gets together, don't you ?? LOL It uses the old faithful Lovely as a Tree stamp set, paired with the Curly Cute and Itty Bitty Bits sets. But the main attraction to this card is all the GLITTER !! It is sparkly beyond belief, using both the Red Glimmer Paper and Dazzling Diamonds glitter. Have a look !!

Isn't that beyond gorgeous !?!? I saw an idea something like this on Christine Pyrch's blog (www.christinepyrch.bogspot.com) but I decided to super glam it !! First I stamped the tree image in Basic Gray and then added the little bird from the Itty Bitty Bits stamp set in Real Red. The Season's Greetings from the Curly Cute set was stamped in Basic Black on a separate piece of Whisper White. I added some Silver Brads and popped this up with dimensionals below the trees. Then this layer got put on a piece of the fabulous Red Glimmer Paper. Isn't that so beautiful !?! Love that paper. I wouldn't normally use it as a full layer, but the stamped image was so simple and elegant, I thought that would really make it pop. And I was right !! LOL One tip when using the Glimmer Paper, you really need to use Glue Dots to adhere it, then it really sticks !! The whole thing got added to a Basic Gray card base. Before I called it finished, I took my 2 Way Glue Pen and filled in some Ice and Snow on the ground and in the trees. Then I sprinkled the Dazzling Diamonds glitter over it so make a beautiful wintery scene. Love this card !! Nothing like some glitter to know that its Christmas !! LOL

I hope you enjoyed this simple but stunning card today !! Thanks for coming by and Happy Stamping !!

3D Paper Pumpkin Trio

Hey Stampers !!

My project for today is a 3 CUTE paper pumpkins !! I made them out of lots of different papers, stamp set and accessories ... but I think they are so cute !! Take a look and tell me what you think !!

Sweet right !?!? They are 3 different sizes and use different products, so I will highlight each pumpkin and tell you what it used !! They are SO easy to make and fun too !!

This is my favourite pumpkin of the three. LOVE how it turned out !! This used the color combo of More Mustard, Garden Green and Early Espresso. The strips of More Mustard are 5-1/2"x1-1/4" and they were run through the Lace Brocade embossing folder. So elegant !! They were then all stuck on one end to a 1-3/4" Circle of cardstock (a second punch went on after the pieces were adhered to make it look nice and give a stronger hold) and then they same "punch sandwich" was used on the top after I curved the pieces into the pumpkin shape. Easy !! Then came the decorating. The stem was made with a scrap strip of Early Espresso rolled up and adhered to a 3/4" Espresso circle with glue dots. This was put on the top of the pumpkin and tied with some Very Vanilla Seambinding. The leaves are from the gently Falling stamp set and I cut them out with my paper snips. Then some skinny strips of Garden Green were curled around my paper piercer to look like little vines. I adhered these with glue dots as well. The sentiment is from Fabulous Phrases and uses the Word Window and Modern Label punches. So cute !!

This pumpkin uses the color combo of Tangerine Tango, Lucky Limeade and Soft Suede. The strips are 1"x 8-1/2" and embossed with the Square Lattice folder. It was made in the same fashion as the Mustard one, of course. The leaves for this one are from the Wonderfall set and I cut them with the Autumn Accents die. The sentiment is from the retired Grateful Greetings stamp set.

This one is the BIGGEST pumpkin !! It uses 3/4" x 11" strips of Pumpkin Pie and is gorgeous !! The strips were embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder. The color combo is Pumpkin Pie, Old Olive and Chocolate Chip. The leaves are from the Day of Gratitude stamp set and the sentiment is from the retired Hand Penned Holidays set. Love all that 1/2" Old Olive Scallop Dots ribbon on the top !! Beautiful

Well, I hope you liked my little pumpkin patch today !! I think they turned out great and once my halloween stuff gets put away, they will have a home on the table in my Foyer !! Hope you can make a couple pumpkins for your house too !! Thanks a lot for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Snowflake Soiree & Festival of Prints

Hey Stampers !!

It's the weekend !! Fun times !! I am really hoping to be able to get some stamping done either tonight or tomorrow. It is my "me time" and I really miss it when I get busy !! So I always try to make the time for some relaxation in my craft room !! Hope you do too !! My card today is yet another Christmas card. I am doing SO well with my Christmas cards this year !! I have almost half of them done already !! I try to have them all done well before December comes so I can send them off early. Hope it works this year !! LOL This card is semi-cased from a card I saw over on Amy Storrie's blog (www.stampedwithjoy.com). Her card is really beautiful, but I decided to step it up a bit and make it my own instead of copying her. LOL Have a look, what do you think ??

I love how it turned out !! The color combo I used was pulled from the Festival of Prints DSP that I used. This DSP is SO great !! It is a small stack of 12 different double sided patterns, and you get 48 sheets !! Thats 4 of each pattern !! And they are the perfect "card" size of 4-1/2" x 6-1/2" !! I love it and  I am using my stack like crazy. I stamped the larger snowflake in Bashful Blue onto Very Vanilla cardstock and then stamped the Merry in Cherry Cobbler on top. This then got cut out using the Window Frames framelits. The small snowflake was stamped in Island Indigo and then die cut with a smaller Window Frame. So pretty !! The flakes fit perfectly and look like they were made for these great framelits !!

I stamped the largest snowflake in Cherry Cobbler ink all over the Cherry Cobbler card base. Then I added the large banner going across from the DSP. The 2 smaller banners were added next; one is the back side of the main pattern of DSP and the other is a piece of Island Indigo ran through the Northern Flurry embossing folder. I love that folder !! So beautiful. Then I took the Dazzling Details glitter glue and smooshed it over the snowflakes with my finger. It just highlights the embossed pieces so nicely !! A tad bit messy on my finger, but totally worth it !! LOL

I love how this card turned out !! The color combo of Cherry Cobbler, Island Indigo and Bashful Blue is SO beautiful. I plan on using it a lot this Holiday Season !! Hope you like it too !! Thanks for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Two Pocket Hallowe'en Treat Holder

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Friday !! Hope you all are having a great week and that you are planning on an even greater weekend !! I am unfortunately working this weekend, so I don't really have any plans. Hoping to just be able to relax on Sunday ! Fingers crossed !! LOL Last night was my October Stamp Club, and we all had a great time !! Love getting together with friends and stamping (and talking and eating ... hahaha). My project today is the EASIEST treat holder I have ever made ... it doesn't even use any adhesive !! And you can get 4 of them out of one 12x12 piece of DSP !! Sounds good to me !! LOL. Its a 2 pocket treat holder, and I think they are just perfect for holding the delicious Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares. Have a look !!

OK, isn't that ADORABLE !?! And they are SO easy !! You take a 6"x6" piece of paper (I used the beautiful Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP, but cardstock would work great too) and score it from corner to corner on your Simply Scored Diagonal Plate. Then rotate and score at 2" and turn upside down and score at 2" again (both of the scores at 2" should cross over the middle score). And thats IT !! Then fold your two corners in, and fold in half so you make 2 pockets, one in the front and one in the back !! I then used a regular hole hunch and punched at the top and used the 1/8" Basic Black Taffeta Ribbon to tie it closed, but you could also just use a staple or some Bakers Twine or something. LOVE IT !!

Where I am using this treat for Halloween, I had to look through my stash of stamp sets for the PERFECT stamp image to decorate this!! And I found it in the retired Gift Givers stamp set. Isn't the little pumpkin patch so sweet ?? This retired set has an image for just about every holiday you can think of, and each one matches a different punch !! This Halloween image matches the Decorative Label punch. I stamped the image on Very Vanilla with Jet Black StazOn and used my blender pens to color in using Tangerine Tango, More Mustard and a hint of Old Olive for the pumpkin stems. After punching out, I punched out a second Decorative Label punch in a coordinating cardstock color, cut it in half and layered the ends behind my stamped image. Love doing that !! So easy and really makes the stamped image pop, don't you think ??

Well, thats it for me today !! I hope whoever gets these treats think they are as cute as I do !! Thanks for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Wonderfall October Stamp Club Card

Hey Stampers !!

My October Stamp Club is tomorrow night, so I have been busy making sure I have everything prepped and ready to go !! We are actually going out of town for this one (I have one lady in my club that lives in a different community) so I triple check anything, because If I forget it we have to do without it !! Hahahahaha The other card (see my Affection Collection card in an earlier post) for this months club uses some beautiful Fall products, the Wonderfall stamp set and matching Autumn Accents Bigz Die. I love how this card turned out, what do you think ?!?

Nice, eh ?? I think it would be great for either a man or a woman recipient, and you could change out the sentiment to any occasion !! And one of my favourite items from the Holiday Mini, the fabulous Champagne Glimmer paper, has a starring role !! Blingy buy not girly blingy ... hahahahaha. The trick to using the Wonderfall/Autumn Accents combo is o die cut the leaves first using the Big Shot, and THEN stamp on them !! Its actually easier than it sounds. After you have your die cut, ink up you stamp and lay it on its back. Then lay the die cut on top and rub with your fingers (or just flip the stamp over, I find that the wet ink makes the cardstock stick enough for that) and press! As you can see from the photo, it works great !!

My leaves here are stamped with Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive and More Mustard. All of the die cuts were then inked with Crumb Cake ink to give them a more weathered look ... they are leaves after all !! Hahaha Also love the way the Woodgrain embossing folder looks with these leaves, like they are falling from an old tree !! The sentiment is from the Curly Cute stamp set and was also inked in Crumb Cake. I have 3 stacked up dimensionals behind the middle of the sentiment banner to add some dimension as well. I also added one of the Brushed Bronze Buttons with a 1/2" Circle of the Champagne Glimmer paper in the middle to the end of the banner. Love those things !! And they stick great with some Mini Glue Dots. The knot of 1/2' Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon was added to the bottom of the leaf cluster for another pop of color.

I really like how this card turned out ! I hope my Stamp Ladies like it as well !! Thanks for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Affection Collection Club Card

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Monday !! I hope you all had a good weekend !! The hubby and I were VERY busy this weekend. We stripped down Jackson's nursery and turned it into his Big Boy room !! No more crib ... no more change table ... sigh ... It was worth at (and turned out beautifully) but was also kind of sad. He's not a baby anymore !! Sniff sniff ... hahaha ... I also took some time to do some stamping once the room was finished, because my October Stamp Club meeting is on Thursday !! So todays card is a project we are doing there. It uses the Affection Collection stamp set from the Holiday Mini and I LOVE it ... take a look !!

Isn't it nice ?? I wanted to go for a different shape for this card. This one measures 8.5" x 3.5" so it fits into a business sized envelope. I wanted to show how this stamp set, although technically created to be a Valentine's set, is SO much more than that !! Its a great set for a more vintage or grungy feel, and the images are both feminine and funky. I used 4 of the 5 2011 In Colors o this card. I LOVE these colors, and they are only going to be current until the end of May !! So I better start using up some of my stash !! Hahaha.

One fun part of this card is that little paper ruffle !! I put some adhesive on my card base, and took a 1" strip of Calypso Coral dsp (after I broke up the fibres using my bone folder), stuck it down on one end and looped it along, sticking as I went. I folded over the loops, to make this flat ruffled look. Cool hey ?? the top edge is covered up with my Whisper White focal image. Love it !! Very fun and feminine. It also mimics the ruffles on the Wisteria Wonder Ruffled ribbon as well !! The little banner was stamped with some Lucky Limeade and cut out with my snips. The little Calypso Coral heart was punched with the Owl Punch too !! Love that little heart !!

Hope you guys like my card today !! I also hope my club girls will like it on Thursday !! Thanks for dropping by today !! Happy Stamping !!

Googly Ghouls - I Love My Mummy !!

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Friday !! It seems like every time I turn around lately, it's Friday again (not that I'm complaining ... hahaha)!! I am so excited for this weekend !! My hubby and I will be doing some small jobs around the house, and working on my home always makes me happy !! Not sure what else we will be up to, but I'm sure it will be fun ... maybe a fire in the back yard !! Nothing like a backyard bonfire in the fall, right ??

My card today is a Hallowe'en card ! My birthday is Hallowe'en, so I always love ANYTHING in that fun theme. Yet, I didn't purchase the Googly Ghouls stamp set !! I must have been crazy not too, cause it's SO cute !! Luckily, my sister-in-law just purchased it ... so that means I get to play with it anyways !! Hahahaha. I have borrowed it from her so expect to see a few projects using this fun set over then next couple weeks !! My card todays uses my fav image from that set, the "too cute to spook" little mummy !! Have a look !!

Isn't he the cutest little thing ever ?!? I cased this card from Christine Luce, as seen over on Kriss Huels blog (www.stampwithkriss.com). Thanks for the ideas Christine !! First I stamped that mummy using Jet Black StazOn onto Whisper White an used my Labels Collection framelits to die cut him out. I stamped the Happy halloween from the Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set in StazOn as well onto Pumpkin Pie and then die cut that piece out using the Bitty Banners framelits. Love how the Teeny Tiny Wishes goes so well with those framelits !! Instant fun sentiment !! Awesome. And the mummy's little heart was punched from the Owl Builder punch. Awwwww. LOL

The main card image is using the Scallop Square Clear Bigz Die. This fun shape still fits in a regular Medium envelope, so I love that !! Then I made a 3-3/4" Square card and adhered it right to the scallop, after I ran the front of it through the Big Shot using my Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. The little banner embellishment on the corner uses Pumpkin Pie and Lucky Limeade DSP from the color collections stacks, along with a little bow ties with the Basic Black 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon. Sweet isn't it ??

Thanks for dropping by today !! I think this card would be so adorable to give to a special kid (or kid at heart) in your life !! If you want to purchase these items, drop by my online store (link on the right)!! Thanks for dropping by, have a great weekend and Happy Stamping !!

Retirement Rewind #5: Triple Treat Flower

Hey Stampers !!

It's a SUPER fall day here today !! I woke up this morning and there was frost EVERYWHERE !! All of the roofs on my street were white !! So, I figured I would post another fall type project today !! I love my Retirement Rewind series, so here is instalment #5 featuring the Triple Treat Flower. This single stamp was a HUGE hit last year (I am actually super surprised it was retired). At a great price (I believe it was $10.95) and coordinating with 3 different punches, its a match made in heaven ! But it was one of the free catalogue options for Saleabration last year as well, so I guess Stampin' Up! figured everyone had it already. LOL. BUT if you were one of the lucky ones who got this awesome stamp, here is a sweet idea for it ! Take a look !!

Is that adorable or what !?!? The DSP is the real kicker for me. This is the retired (from last years Holiday Mini) Spice Cake dsp. I love how this pattern is the Triple Treat Flower !! It gives me a thrill when things match THIS will. Hahaha. The color combo here was pulled straight from this dsp; Soft Suede, Pear Pizzazz, More Mustard and Pool Party. The flower itself was stamped 3 times onto Very Vanilla cardstock. Once in Soft Suede, and then punched with the Fancy Flower Punch; once in Pear Pizzazz, and then I hand cut that shape because I don't own the (now retired) 5 Petal Flower Punch; and lastly in More Mustard and punched with the 1/2" Circle Punch. Then each layer got dimensionals and made this sweet multi color flower !!

I then stamped the flower in Pear Pizzazz onto Pear Pizzazz cardstock for that top layer piece; then it was die cut with the Adorning Accents edgelit and embossed with the coordinating Adorning Accents folder. Isn't that a great look !! Then after wrapping around a piece of the delicious Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon, it was attached to the DSP and then the Soft Suede card base. That sentiment is from the (also retired ... hahaha) Grateful Greetings stamp set, and then punched with my dynamic duo of the Large Oval Punch and Scalloped Oval Punch. Love it !!

I hope you like my card today !! If you don't have this Triple Treat Flower, you could duplicate this look with any flower really. Or even the new Quint-Essential Flower stamp ... it coordinates with FIVE different punches !! Cool or what !! Well, thanks a lot for dropping by today ... Have a good one and Happy Stamping !!

Keep Calm and Cry A Little

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Thanksgiving !! Well, Canadian Thanksgiving anyways. LOL. Nothing like a long weekend right ?? We did our turkey dinner yesterday, so today is all about relaxing. The hubby and I also went for an amazing quad (ATV) ride yesterday. I got some great pictures of the fall colors and beautiful fall landscape we have around here in Central Newfoundland. So gorgeous !! A great time !! Yay for Fall, my fav season !!

My project today is an idea that I cased from Shana over on www.stressfreestamping.blogspot.com. I used a few different colors and a tweaked it a bit, but this is ultimately her card. LOL It uses the Carry On and Flowering Flourishes stamp sets, and I love how it turned out !! Take a look !!

How stunning is that !?!? That beautiful sentiment is from the Carry On hostess stamp set. I used my markers to color it in so that it was in a couple different colors. I then used my Labels Framelits to pop it out. Beautiful !! This color combo of Primrose Petals, Raspberry Ripple, Marina Mist, Certainly Celery and So Saffron is SO nice. I may have to put this on permanent rotation !! LOL I used my Stampin' Write Markers for colouring in the flourishes, so easy and beautiful !!

The Raspberry Ripple main layer was embossed using the (retired) Finial Press folder. Then those 2 Marina Mist pieces were die cut with the Large Scallop edgelit. Love those edgelits !! Lastly the little flowers were punched with the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, folded up a bit for some dimension and finished off with a rhinestone to the middle. Voila !! So cute.

Well, I hope you like my card today !! It would be perfect to give to someone who may be having a hard time right now ... let them know you care and are thinking about them !! Nothing brightens a person's day like a beautiful handmade card !! Have a great day and Happy Stamping !!

No Peeking !!

Hey Stampers,

Well, here I am again with yet another Christmas card !! I hope you don't get sick of them, cause they will keep on coming for the next 2 months at least !! LOL The set I am using today is the adorable No Peeking stamp set. This set is great for anyone with kids. The images are beyond cute; and they include a snowman, a penguin and this reindeer image I used !! This set also has 2 sentiments and a great "to: from:" image that makes making your own Christmas tags SUPER easy !! Take a look at what I came up with using this great set !!

I used the Scallop Square Duo die to die cut that white square. Then I took a small piece to make a layer of "snow" on the bottom. I ripped the top edge and fluffed it up with my finger. Then I ran a line of the Dazzling Details across it to give it a sparkly snowy look. Once that dried, I attached it to my scallop square. It might be hard to see in the picture, but it adds a great bit of sparkle and dimension to the scene !! Before I attached my "snow" I stamped my cute tree (also from this set).. I used my markers to ink it up in Gumball Green, Chocolate Chip and Daffodil Delight. It also got a layer of Dazzling Details put on its branches. On a scrap piece of Whisper White I stamped my reindeer image, again using my markers. It takes a bit of a delicate hand to color in the different colors, but I think its totally worth it !! Then I cut him out with my Paper Snips and layered  him on the scene with some dimensionals. Using my Stampamajig, I put the little bird sitting on his back. How adorable is that !?!?

I then layered my little "winter scene" onto a piece of Cherry Cobbler cardstock. The DSP is from the fun Be Of Good Cheer pack. This design reminded me of little Christmas Trees, so I thought it went well with my focal point image. The sentiment was inked with my markers and punched out with the extra Large Oval Punch. A piece of 1/2" Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dots Ribbon was put under it to add some more fun red color.

I think this card would be great to give to a child or even a teacher !! Love the fun bold images. Hope you do too !! Thanks a lot for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Thanksgiving Pumpkin Treat Holder

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Friday !! This is a LONG weekend here in Canada, yay Thanksgiving !! I actually have to work tomorrow, so its not a long weekend for ME ... but I still get Monday off and of course a nice big Turkey dinner !! Yummy !! It is starting to get very Fall-ish around here ... leaves changing, a cool nip in the air, the smell of wood fires burning ... and, of course, the arrival of MY favourite Fall item. The pumpkin !! I am serious. I would probably eat ANYTING that someone tells me there is pumpkin in. I love pumpkin loafs, muffins, cakes, drinks ... you name it ... pumpkin makes it better !! LOL So my project today celebrates that very awesome gourd ... the pumpkin !! Take a look !!

Sweet or what !?!? This little treat holder/bag thing is made with the awesome Scallop Circle die. I die cut 2 pieces of (what else) 5" square Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Then I scored a spot where I wanted my "pumpkin" to stand up (I scored at the 8 scallop mark) and folded it. Then the un-folded parts got embossed with the beautiful Lacy Brocade embossing folder. This would look great with any embossing folder (like the Striped one would be awesome) but I wanted a more "fancy" look so I broke out this brand new folder, which is becoming my go to texture lately. Then I had to make the "box" section. I took a piece of Pumpkin Pie measuring 10-1/2" and scored every 3-1/2" on the long side and then scored at 3/8" on both edge longways. Then I folded all my score lines and cut on the 3 scores into the 3/8" score. All the edges got Sticky Stripped and then the box was attached to the scallops !! If thats confusing, let me know. But its just your standard box. Hahahahaha.

The handle is made with the (sadly retired) Lace Ribbon Border punch in Chocolate Chip. Love this fancy touch !! And its the perfect thickness for the width of my box (see picture below). I then stamped the small leaf image from the Day of Gratitude stamp set in Old Olive ink (once in full strength, once in half strength ink) and cut them out with my snips. The Old Olive Scallop Dots ribbon was looped around the handle and secured with an Antique Brad. Love it !! The sentiment is from the (also sadly retired) Grateful Greetings stamp set; stamped in Pumpkin Pie, punched with the Large Oval punch and layered onto the Scallop Oval Punch in Chocolate Chip.

This is just a side view to show how wide the box is. It can sure hold a lot of treats !! I think this would be a great table favour at Thanksgiving, don't you ?? Or it could be decorated with a more "Hallowe'en" flair and given to Trick or Treaters !! So versatile.

Hope you liked my post today !! Thanks a lot for dropping by and Happy Stamping (and Thanksgiving !! LOL)

Merry Snowflakes

Hey Stampers !!

Well, I know its only the very beginning of October, but my stamp room has turned into Santa's Workshop !! With such a long list of people that get Christmas cards, I need to be doing it a LOT, so I can have them ready to send by the end of November/early December !! I have 2 of them to show you today. Pretty much the same card: just different colors !! They use the beautiful Snowflake Soiree stamp set (one of my favorites from the Holiday Catalogue) and I broke out my Heat Tool and Embossing Powders for these !! Take a look !!

This card uses the colors of Whisper White, Midnight Muse and Silver. Isn't it wintery and beautiful !! These snowflakes are MADE for heat embossing. I love it !! I stamped the larger image first in my VersaMark and embossed them with the White Embossing Powder. Then I filled in the spaces with the smaller snowflake using the Silver embossing powder. They show up so beautifully on the Midnight Muse cardstock ... just like a beautiful winter's night !! The Merry sentiment (also from the Snowflake Soiree set) got stamped in Midnight Muse ink and punched out with the Decorative Label punch. A Silver Basics Glimmer Brad got added to this piece to bling it up. Love how it ties in with the Silver embossing powder !! The beautiful Whisper White 5/8" Organza Ribbon wrapped around the layer adds a nice touch I think. Something for the punched piece to be "anchored" to, so it isn't just floating on the card. So beautiful !!

Here is the second card ! I flipped the card over on its side for this one. I didn't do it on purpose, its just that the snowflakes piece looked better with the sentiment this way. I used Cherry Cobbler along with Whisper White and Gold for this version of the card. I know that you would never see gold snow flakes (or a red sky) , but I love how regal this card looks !! Gold and Red is one of my fav combos. And again, a Glimmer Brad (this time in Gold) adds that little something to the sentiment piece.

I love how these cards turned out !! It was so quick and easy, but packs a real punch !! Love it !! Thanks for dropping by today !! And Happy Stamping !!
