Floral Frames Shaped Card

Hey Stampers,

Well, it has happened. Jackson has turned 2 !! Yesterday was a CRAZY day here at my house. I had all his little friends (and their moms) in the afternoon and then the big family supper in the evening. It was busy but lots of fun !! Jack didn't quite get why all these people were around, but he got to play with his friends and get some nice presents, so that was good enough for him !! It was a great day and I can still hardly believe he has been with us for 2 years !! Crazytown. My project today has nothing to do with Jackson's birthday though. I didn't even make him a card !! GASP !! But really, at 2 years old, the only one opening and reading the cards is me so I didn't think it was really worth it to make a card just for me. Hahahahaha. But, he did get some cute cards and I will post my favourites sometime next week !!

My project today is a cool technique that I saw over on Mary Fish's blog (www.stampinpretty.com). She is a LEGEND in the SU world, and if you don't follow her blog religiously ... you should. I had seen this shaped card technique before with the Bigz dies, but never with the framelits, so I had to try it out for myself !! This is what I came up with and I LOVE it ! What do you think ??

It's actually a REALLY easy card to make, and then you just embellish it however you wish. You take a piece of cardstock (I used a full piece of 8-1/2"x11" for this biggest Floral Framelit), score it and fold it in half. Then place the framelit right at the top of the fold, with some of the fold below the cutting blade. This way you don't cut through and get 2 separate pieces. Then you have a cure shaped card !! with this shape, make sure you even the petals so that 2 are on the bottom and then the card can stand up on its own. Cool hey !?!?!?

Then I used the Distressed Dots background stamp and stamped with Crumb Cake onto Very Vanilla. Then I used strips of DSP from the Patterns stacks (Raspberry Ripple from the 2012-2014 In Colors an Perfect Plum from the Subtles) to create a stripe effect and ran that through the Big Shot in the next size down framelit, then you have a shaped layer as well !! Love it !! The flower is also a framelit from the Floral Frames. I cut in between each petal and then curled them up with my bone folder for some dimension. The middle of the flower was done with the Boho Blossoms punch. My sentiment used the Itty Bitty Banners stamp set along with the matching framelits. A fun way to add a sentiment !! Love it !!

Well, I hope you liked my project today !! Thanks a lot for dropping by and Happy Stamping !!

Affection Collection Friend Card

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Friday !! I am SO ready for this week to be over. I had a lot of stuff to do this week, with Jackson's birthday and 2 parties tomorrow) so I haven't stopped. Can't wait for Sunday !! LOL I still can't believe my baby is going to be 2 years old tomorrow. Where did the time go !?! Hahaha. BUT of course no matter how busy I am, I must keep up with my stamping !! Its my "me" time !! My card today uses the awesome Affection Collection stamp set from the Holiday Catalogue. I just received this set on my last order, and I am loving it !! I also used the new Lacy brocade embossing folder for the first time, and it is just delicious !! Take a look and tell me what you think !!

I used the color combo of Summer Starfruit, Soft Suede, Baja Breeze and Primrose Petals. I really like how these colors go together, nice soft colors especially when paired with Very Vanilla. My main focal image was stamped in Summer Starfruit and then I tore around the edges for a more vintage look, and then sponged with Soft Suede. I then stamped again in Primrose Petals so I could punch out that Modern Label and pop it up. Before I punched it out though, I used my Stampamajig to help me place that Friend stamp right in the middle. It fits so perfectly, but I needed some help from my trusty Stampamajig. LOL

The banner was stamped in Baja Breeze and then hand cut out. I like how the words on the banner combined with the focal point say "Number 1 Friend". Cute !! The hearts were stamped with the winged image from the stamp set, but I just punched out the heart with the Small Heart punch. Love how punches can make images so different !!

And I can't NOT talk about that beautiful embossing folder. Isn't that texture just exquisite ?? This may be the most beautiful embossing folder Stampin' Up! has. So make sure you get it before the Holiday Catalogue is over !! You only have until January 4th !! So if you want to place an order, click on the link to my Online Store on the right of this page or contact me !! And if you place a $50 order before the end of September, you can get that beautiful Primrose Petals Stitched Satin Ribbon for FREE !! Or any of the other 2012-2014 In Colors ribbons. Gotta love stuff for free, right !?!?

I hope you enjoyed my card today !! I really like how it turned out. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and Happy Stamping !!

Retirement Rewind #4: A Slice of Life

Hey Stampers !!

As you know, I am a huge advocate of not letting your older stamps just "sit there" and only using new sets. LOL. I feel like my stamp sets are like the toys in Toy Story 3 ... they only want to be played with !! So, when I find that a great retired set that I may not use anymore gets neglected for too long, I like to pass it along to someone else !! Hopefully they can get some fun use out of it !! I do this a lot with the door prize at my events. I make a cute card with a retired stamp set and give both the set and card to some lucky person !! Its a huge hit !! The set I used this month was a hostess set from the 2011 Occasions Mini, called A Slice of Life ... take a look !!

This set is super versatile. It has this cute coffee cup image, a set of baby pyjamas, a cake and a vase of flowers. I thought this mug image was too cute though !! And I was really excited that it fit in this cute framelit from the Apothecary Accents framelit set. I stamped it in Early Espresso and carefully used my blender pen to water color the image in Rose Red, Crumb Cake and Early Espresso. I then cut a mat out of Early Espresso cardstock to really make the stamped piece pop. I then used some retired Spice Cake DSP and some Orchard Harvest DSP along with some Crumb Cake and Early Espresso embossed cardstock to make some banners for under my focal point. Love how they turned out !! The mixture of patterned paper and texture is a great look I think.

I die cut another Apothecary Accents framelit in Rose Red and stamped it with the Distressed Dots background stamp. Then the Crumb Cake layer was ran through my Big Shot with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. The sentiment comes from the Sweet Essentials stamp set and I thought the coffee cup image went along great with the "friends" idea. Easy to make this car work for lots of different occasions !!

Well, I hope you liked my card today !! It would be a great layout to make work for lots of different images even if you don't have the A Slice of Life stamp set !! Thanks for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Orchard Harvest Milk Cartons and Carrier

Hey Stampers !!

Well, tonight is my September Stamp Club !! I wanted a really cute idea for my Hostess Gift this time, so I did a bit of browsing online and saw this CUTE "caddy" for for the Mini Milk Carton die. I got this die a while ago and never really played with it, so I thought it would be a great one to make !! I think it turned out SO adorable, what do you think ??

Here is a picture of all the elements. I used the Orchard Harvest DSP for my little Milk Cartons and then made a peek a boo window in them with the Cannery Framelits. These are covered with a small piece of window sheet so the treats don't fall out. Sweet or what !?!?! And they are so easy to make !! I then decorated them with the cute flower from the Perfectly Preserved stamp set. So adorable !!

Here is a picture of just the Milk cartons. They are kept closed with a mini clip with a scrap of Raspberry Ripple Stitched Satin ribbon tied through it. Love it !! I also love how both of these DSP patterns are the same, just one in More Mustard and the other in Island Indigo. Makes them look like a set ! And this gingham pattern is SO cute !!

Here is the side view, where you can get a better view of the caddy itself. I got this tutorial on Chiaki Haverstick's blog (www.stampingpro.com). She has a TON of step by step tutorials for awesome projects. Check her out !! I think this holder is so adorable and would be a lovely gift for friends, co-workers or a childs teacher. I plan on making more of these in the future !! LOL

I hope you enjoyed todays project !! Please come back soon, have a great day and Happy Stamping !!

Hallowe'en Printers Tray

Hey Stampers !!!

I am BACK !! Vacation was wonderful, but it is also good to be home. Can't wait to do some stamping !! I think I was going into withdrawals!! LOL My project today is a take on a Printers Tray. SU had a Hallowe'en Printers Tray project as a promotion for becoming a new demo last month, so I didn't get one. BUT I did buy a Printers Tray and decorated it myself !! I LOVE how it turned out !! What do you think ??

I used pretty much every Hallowe'en stamp set that I own, some current and a few retired. Isn't it adorable ?!?! These little 2-3/4" by 3-3/4" pieces all are removable so I plan on doing one of these for all the seasons or Holidays !! I am already planning my Autumn one, so expect to see that one soon !!

As much as I love all of the little cards, I think what really makes this project are the 2 banners !! It was so easy to make them using my Petite Pennants Builder Punch. I used Basic Black for the scalloped pieces; with mostly Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP for the top pieces along with some Silver Glimmer Paper and some scraps of Regals Patterns DSP and Brights Patterns DSP.

The product list for this project would be HUGE so I am not going to type it out. LOL. But if you have any questions, I would love to answer them !! Either leave me a comment on this post or email me !! Hope you have a great weekend and Happy Stamping !!!

Everything Eleanor Sympathy

Hey Stampers,

Today's post is showing the other projects that my Stamp Club girls will be making at our meeting next week! It uses one of my fav sets, Everything Eleanor! I also challenged myself to use some colors I don't use very often, so the color combo I spose is Bravo Burgundy, Always Artichoke and River Rock.

I used my Labels framelits to cut out a Very Vanilla label. Then I used a pencil to trace around the same label on a piece of Always Artichoke card stock and cut it out. I wanted a layer, but a smaller one. This technique works great! I then stamped the stem image from the stamp set with Always Artichoke ink and a few different directions by turning the stem upside down. Then I stamped some flowers on scrap Very Vanilla. The large flower got full strength Bravo Burgundy ink, and the small flower got stamped off first to make a lighter shade of Burgundy. Love this look! Then I layered the labels together and added the cut out flowers with dimensionals. So beautiful!

I then cut a piece of River Rock card stock at 3-3/4" x 5" and stamped the flourish image from Everything Eleanor in River Rock ink all over it. This layered onto a piece of Very Vanilla DSP from the Neutrals DSP Stack which got put onto a Bravo Burgundy card base.

The sentiment comes from the Petite Pairs stamp set. I stamped it in River Rock ink onto Very Vanilla and punched it out with the large Oval punch. Then I layered it onto an Always Artichoke Scalloped Oval punch. I put a scrap of Victoria Crochet Trim behind this and attached it with dimensionals.

The inside of the card I decorated with the stamp sets as well. Love having the insides of cards pretty too!!

Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you enjoyed my card and come back soon! Happy Stamping!!

Lovely as a Tree Birthday

Hey Stampers!!

We're still here in Florida! Having a great time, but its pouring down rain this afternoon so I thought I would do a quick blog post while Jack is asleep!

Today is my Dads birthday so I am going to share his card with you! I really love how this card turned out. I used the SO versatile Lovely As ATree stamp set. So perfect for any type of masculine card as well as Christmas and Autumn! It's a compete must have.

I took the beautiful tree image and embossed it with the new Early Espresso embossing powder on some Very Vanilla card stock. Then I sponged the piece in Always Artichoke on the bottom, moved into More Mustard in the middle and Cajun Craze on the top. I love how it looks like a sunset, so beautiful! I added some extra Always Artichoke with a blender pen to the grassy areas to add some dimension. This piece got layered on some Cajun Craze that was distressed with my Paper Snips and sponged with Early Espresso.

The main layer is Always Artichoke that I ran through my Big Shot with the Woodgrain embossing folder. This was inked up in Early Espresso as well. The sentiment is from the From My Heart stamp set and was embossed with Gold Embossing Powder onto Early Espresso card stock and punched with the Modern Label Punch. This was layered into a Large Oval punched from a piece of More Mustard.

The ribbon element was some pieces of Victoria Crochet Trim, More Mustard Scallop Dots ribbon and Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain. It was tied to a Bronze Button using some Linen Thread. I LOVE how this ribbon element turned out. I can see myself using it in the future, so pretty!!

Thanks for dropping by today! I hope you enjoyed my card and Happy Stamping!!

Mixed Thanks A Bunch

Hey Stampers,

The October issue of the demonstrator only magazine Stampin' Success was released online today. Meaning my Art Contest honorable mention project was published!! So now I am going to show it to all you guys!!

I started off by using my Apothecary Accents framelits to cut out some card stock. The Wild Wasabi piece I ran through my Big Shot with the Square Lattice embossing folder, while the Whisper White piece I stamped with images from the Mixed Bunch stamp set. I love this color combo of Pool Party, So Saffron and Wild Wasabi. So soft and fun!

My main focal piece I embossed with White Embossing Powder and then punched out with the Blossom Punch
and the 3/4" Circle Punch. Love how the delicate lines of the flower stamp show up so nicely in white on the colored card stock.

I am really proud of this sweet and simple card, and was so honored that Stampin' Up! thought it was worthy of r notice!! Thanks for dropping by today! Happy Stamping!!

Sesame Street Treat Bags

Hey Stampers,

My son Jackson's 2nd birthday party will be the weekend after we get home from Florida, so I had to prep everything before we left. His theme this year is Sesame Street which is one of his favorite tv shows. I really wanted to try and create some Sesame Street stuff using my SU products, so I tried to make the loot bags ... I think they turned out great!! I created Elmo, Oscar the Grouch and Cookie Monster.

I used some plain brown paper bags and just jazzed them up! Elmo used retired Poppy Parade (I have a backlog of this card stock around to make my Elmo projects, it's the perfect color) along with an Extra Large Oval punch in Peach Parfait for his nose and some 1-3/8" Whisper White and 3/4" Basic Black circles for his eyes.

Oscar the Grouch used Old Olive, some Whisper White Extra Large Ovals and 3/4" Basic Black Circles for eyes. I also added some More Mustard Word Window punches for his "mean" eye brows. LOL

Cookie Monster is Pacific point card stock and the same eyes as Elmo, with some more crazy looking pupils. Hahaha. I then used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch in Crumb Cake and added some Itty Bitty punch pack circle punch Chocolate Chips. I had a bite took out of it with the 1-3/4" Scallop Circle punch. So adorable!!!

Well I hope you liked my cute treat bags!! Drop by soon for some more fun projects!! Happy Stamping!!

Tags Til Christmas

Hey Stampers!!

Greetings from sunny and beautiful Florida!!! We are just relaxing around the house today. Went and picked up some groceries and are just relaxing. So great!! And its my first ever blog post using the Blogger app on my iPad (I didn't bring my laptop with me) so I hope it looks good!! LOL

My card today is another Christmas card. It uses the fun Tags Til Christmas stamp set along with the beautiful Music Notes Stampin' Around Wheel. It was simple to create but still really pretty. Take a look!!

I used the Christmasy color combo of Real Red, Wild Wasabi and Chocolate Chip. I inked up the Ornament image in the Red and Wasabi and stamped it into Very Vanilla, then I punched it out with the coordinating Ornament punch. Every image in the cute Tags Til Christmas stamp set has a matching punch, and you know how much I love that! I also punched out a 3rd ornament with some retired DSP from last years Berry Bouquet. Love those glittery red polka dots!!

The sentiment is from the, also sadly retired, Grateful Greetings stamp set. I stamped it in Chocolate Chip, along with the Music Notes wheel, and then it was easy to arrange my ornaments. I added a little knot of Early Espresso Stitched Ribbon to the top of each ornament as well. I think it turned out so cute!!!

Thanks for dropping by today! Hope you have a great weekend ... I know I will!! LOL Happy Stamping!!

Retirement Rewind #3: Birthday Bakery

Hey Stampers,

Today is another Retirement Rewind post ! I am really liking this little series. I love using all kids of stamp sets, and just cause its retired doesn't mean I stopped liking it !! Todays set is the Birthday Bakersy set that was a Hostess set in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalogue. Love these cute cake images ... what do you think ??

My color combo for this card is Melon Mambo, Chocolate Chip and Lucky Limeade. It may look like I used more colors for the watercoloring, but that is a GTEAT thing with watercoloring. You can dilute the ink as much as you want !! So the Chocolate Chip can be light or dark or medium. Love that. Blender Pens are awesome !!

And of course, my BanAnon (Banners Anonymous) addiction is showing through on this card. Such a fun way to add this DSP !! As much as I love designer series paper, the Patterned Paper Stacks in all the color families are so versatile ... a complete must have!! And the texture on the Lucky Limeade from the Square Lattice embossing folder is so fun. Love it !!

I always do the inside of my cards as well, but rarely remember to take a picture of it. LOL. This set had some cute sentiments, and this one is my favorite !! Love that little gift bag as well. Adds some pop to the inside of the card !!

I hope you liked todays card !! I am off to Disney World tomorrow (YAY!) but keep checking in, I promise to post some more fun projects while I am away !! Have a great one and Happy Stamping !!

Tricky Treats Treat Holders

Hey Stampers !!

So, the count down is ON !! 2 more sleeps until my little family goes to Disney World !! YAY !! I know that we go usually twice a year, but it never gets less exciting ... hahaha ... Nothing like a vacation, am I right ?? But, I will still be posting some projects from down there. I have some pprojects backlogged that I can post so you won't be getting rid of me ... LOL

My post today is one of the projects my girls are going to make at my September Stamp Club !! I am all prepared for that already too !! Hahahaha. They are Hallowe'en treat holders using the Tricky Treats stamp set and the Howlstooth and Scaringbone DSP. I made 4 to showcase the 4 different stamps in the set, but the girls get to make 2. Check them out !!

Cute hey ?? Each one holds a snack sized treat (I used Smarties, Kit Kat, Coffee Crisp and Aero Bars). I used the largest framelit from the Apothecary Accents framelits and scored a space in the middle wide enough for the candy. Then the top was stapled and the treat was slid inside. Easy as pie !! The hardest part was deciding which side of the DSP to use !! All of these patterns are so fun. And I love how they could easily be used for occasions other than Halloween, just fun patterns and funky colors. Awesome !!

The focal points are stamps from the Tricky treats stamp set. Love this one !! This set is in the Annual Catalogue, not the Holiday Mini, so hopefully that means it will stick around for a few years !! I colored the images with my markers, in the colors from the DSP. I love the combo of Basic Black, Basic Gray, Tangerine Tango and More Mustard. I also added a touch of Old Olive and Elegant Eggplant to the cat image. Love these sophisticated Halloween colors !! I used a bunch of different punches to punch them out and to give them a background layer. Then just used some dimensionals to attach !! A little knot of the 1/2" Scallop Dots Ribbon in the Black, Mustard and Tangerine added the perfect little touch !! I attached them with a Mini Glue Dot. Love these treat holders !!

Thanks for dropping by today !! If you are interested in making these treat holders as well, let me know !! I would love for you to come by my Stamp Club and make a few !! Or just click on the Shop Now button on the right and come to my online store and purchase some of the products !! Hope to see you here soon and Happy Stamping !!

Daydream Medallions Birthday

Hey Stampers!!

Happy Weekend to you !! Ah, Labor Day weekend ... nothing like a 3 day weekend is there ?? Especially for me, because when I go back to work I am only working for 2 days and then I go to Florida for 2 weeks !! YAY !! But, that of course means I am rushed for this week trying to get stuff done before we go. And that includes some stamping !! One of the things I needed to do was get some Birthday cards done for some family ! 3 people have birthdays while we are gone, so I needed to have the cards done so someone can give them out even if I'm not here. Yes, I am that organized hahahaha. Today's card is for one of those people !

I cased todays card from Kriss Huels' blog (www.stampwithkriss.com) even though she didn't make it. It was sent to her from Pam Morgan at the SU Head Office. I LOVE this simple layout !! I didi change it up a bit with the Color Combo and a few other details. What do you think ??

Cute hey !?!? The Daydream Medallions stamps set is one of my favorites, but I find it hard to actually find ways to use it. I love how its used here !! And see those cute polka dots ?? That uses a "left behind" circle from the Daydream Medallions !! Don't throw away that extra rubber, it can be used as a stamp as well !! The cute die cut from the Floral Frames Framelits set looks great here. And I really like the color combo of Primrose Petals, Old Olive and More Mustard. Really pops against all that Crumb Cake.

One of my favorite elements on this card is that Elegant Butterfly !! I stamped one of the small medallions on some cardstock and centred the punch over it. And I added one of the beautiful In COlor Dahlias on top, really makes it stand out !! Love it. And I love how great the First Edition DSP is for stamping on ... adds a lot more interest than just plain Very Vanilla cardstock, don't you think ??

Thanks for dropping by to see my card today !! I hope you liked it and Happy Stamping !!
