Cute Cupcakes !!

Hey Stampers !!

Tonight is the baby shower for my sweet nephew Quinton ! Instead of having a cake, we are having some AWESOME cupcakes that I made. LOL. Cupcakes are so trendy right now, they seem to be everywhere !! SU has a couple stamp sets that feature cupcakes (Create A Cupcake, Got Treats, A Cherry On Top and Carry On to name a few) and even the adorable Cupcake Builder Punch ! I made cute little toppers to stick into mine, have a look !!

SWEET or what !?!? I use the Jumbo cupcake tins (and they are monsters) and they hold a huge amount of yummy Buttercream frosting !! I stamped the baby hand from the Baby Prints stamp set in Bashful Blue, and then the Q from the Notable Alphabet set (for Quinton) right on top in Chocolate Chip ink. That got punched out with the 1-3/4" Circle punch, layered on a 2" Chocolate Chip circle that i die cut using the Circles #2 Die and then a 2-3/8" Scallop Circle Punch. I got the cute sticks at a local baking supply store. Simple and sweet right !?!? And here they are en masse !!

Yummy !! Thanks for dropping by today !! See you soon and Happy Stamping !!

Snow Much Fun Frame

Hey Stampers !!

I have another Christmas card for you today, and it uses the awesome Snow Much Fun stamp set !! This was one of my favorite Christmas sets in last years Idea Book & Catalogue, and I was thrilled when it wasn't retired. I think this one is so popular, it should be around for a long time. Anything with snowmen or snowflakes on it is automatically on my "must have list". I find snowmen BEYOND adorable, so this set gets a lot of use for me.

I seriously LOVE this card. I saw this idea of the snowman "hanging out" of the Designer Frames embossing folder on Stampin' Connection and LOVED it !! I stamped the man in Chocolate Chip ink onto Very Vanilla card stock and used my Blender Pen to color in some of the accents in Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, Garden Green, Crumb Cake and More Mustard. I then sponged the heck out of him with my Crumb Cake ink and a Stamping Sponge. I wanted him to have a slightly dirty look. I ran some Chocolate Chip cardstock through the Designer Frames embossing folder and cut it out, then trimmed around my snowman and fit him into the frame.

I took a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock (measuring 5" x 3-3/4") and embossed it with the Northern Flurry folder. I then sponged the snowflakes with my Whisper White Craft Ink and sponged around the edges with Chocolate Chip. I used the (now sadly retired) Snowflake Punch to pop out a Not Quite Navy flake to slip behind the frame and the Tiny Tags stamp set and matching Jewelry Tag punch for my cute little sentiment. A couple pearls really added some vintage charm. This all layered on some Garden Green and a Chocolate Chip card base (all sponged with Chocolate Chip ink).

I decided to show you the inside of this card too !! I really wanted to add this sentiment from the set to the front of the card but it didn't look like it belonged anywhere ... so inside the card it went !! I think this verse is SO cute !! I also added the other snowman from the set on the bottom here to jazz up the inside.

I hope you liked todays card !! Much more Christmas stuff to come !! And I promise to start showing some Hallowe'en stuff soon as well !! Thanks for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Little Girl Home Decor

Hey Stampers !!

Well, today is I guess "Part 2" of my Birthday Gift I talked about yesterday. I always think that a homemade and unique gift trumps something store bought. I really wanted to make something special for my BFFs daughter, so I thought something for her "big girl" room. They are in the process of building a new house, so when they move in she will be in her Big Girl room and I wanted something a big "grown up" but still whimsical and fun. Something that she could have for years. I came up with a decorative wall hanging (I also included a nice stand so they can sit it on hr dresser or whatever). Take a look at what I came up with !! Warning: Photo Overload Ahead !! LOL

OMG cute right !?!? I seriously love this thing. I hardly wanted to give it away !! Hahahahaha. All of the colors and inspiration were pulled from the funky and fun Floral District dsp pack. I think this pack is perfect for young girls !! I have some more close up pics now, to highlight some of my fav elements.

I used the gorgeous Broadsheet Alphabet stamp set to spell out her name. Love how it turned out !! Isn't this color combo of Rose Red, Baja Breeze, Lucky Limeade, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight and Rich Razzleberry just delicious !?!? So crisp and fun, but not TOO girly (like it is was all pinks and purples). Love this bright punch that Tangerine adds !!

I used my Tasteful Trim die here for that stripe element. I really liked how some things were "inside" the frame, and other things looked like they were spilling out over it; attached to the mat and everything. This 3/8" Lucky Limeade Ruffled Ribbon is so sweet, and of course the Papillon Potpourri butterflies scream little girl !! The Dare to Dream sentiment comes from the Loving Thoughts stamp set. I really liked that message for a child, very inspirational I thought !!

I found it hard at first trying to figure out I was going to incorporate the DSP that was the inspiration for the colors and everything. Then I thought "Hello BANNERS !!" This is so trendy right now, and  I love how it turned out here. I think its really important to have different thicknesses and lengths of paper, and the couple layered on top really makes it look dimensional. And an extra butterfly cant hurt right !?!? LOL

This element really ties in with the birthday card from yesterday. The Betsy's Blossom flower works geat inside the Blossom Punch and adds a nice 3D element. I curled the petals using my bone folder, and then used dimensionals and Rhinestones to really make it pop. Love it !!

I am SO pleased with how this turned out !! I hope she will enjoy it for many years to come. I think I will definitely have to try to make one for Jackson now too !! Hmmm ... how I can do one like this for a boy I wonder !?!?! I will have to brainstorm on that one !! LOL

Thanks for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Betsy's Blossom Birthday

Hey Stampers !!

So, today was my best friend Courtney's little girls birthday party !! Sophie is super special to us. She is only 3 weeks older than Jackson, so they have really grown up (so far) together ! She is my sweet girl. So that meant a REALLY special card (I will post the beautiful gift I made for her tomorrow). The colors and DSP match her gift, so thats where I got my inspiration. Take a look !!!

This card measures 5-1/4" Square. I love the strips of Floral District DSP. I saw this striped pattern idea somewhere and thought it would work well on this card. They are 1/2" wide each, and spaced 1/4" apart. Adds a lot of texture without being too busy, where they use the tone on tone patterns. And that combo of Rich Razzleberry, Baja Breeze and Rose Red is funky yet feminine.

The flower is the big image from the Betsy's Blossoms stamp set, stamped in Daffodil Delight and punched out with the Blossom punch.  The centre is Lucky Limeade and from the Mixed Bunch stamp set. The cute leaves are from the Build a Blossom punch and I scored them in the middle to give them some dimension. The awesome sentiment is from my new fav, Wacky Wishes Hostess set. And the butterflies are from the Papillon Potpourri stamp set and punched with the Elegant Butterfly punch. I love that punch !! And of course, a little girls card wouldn't be complete without some Basic Rhinestones to bling it up !!

Please come back tomorrow to see the other half of Sophie's Birthday Gift !! Its the first real Home Decor item that I have made to give away, and she really liked it (well her mother did ... she is only 2 after all ... hahaha). I hope you will too !! Thanks a lot and Happy Stamping !!

Perfectly Preserved Christmas

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Saturday to you !! I am slowly but surely making more Christmas cards. I am not as far ahead as I was last year, but I am getting there. I think once I get back from Disney (only 11 DAYS until we go!!) I will be more in the Christmas mood ... LOL. But, my card today is a Christmas card. It uses that adorable Gingerbread Man stamp (again) from the Scentsational Season stamp set (love that one!!) and my beloved Perfectly Preserved stamp set !! I keep trying to come up with new and fun things to put in that mason jar !! And this time, its that Gingerbread Man! Take a look !!

Cute hey !?!? He fits in SO perfectly !! I inked up the mason jar and the gingerbread man in Chocolate Chip ink, and that jar top is stamped in Real Red. Then I die cut the image with my (surprise surprise) Window Frames framelits, and layered it with a Gumball Green frame. The cute Real Red polka dot dsp is from the Summer Smooches paper pack! Not really a place you would look for a Christmas paper, but its funny where you can find a paper that will work!! So look at your "non Christmas" papers in a new light, and see where you can use it !! I then used the Scallop Ribbon Border Punch for that tiny little Gumball Green scallop that peeks out from behind the DSP. Adds a cute little touch !!

That fun Merry Christmas stamp is from the hostess set, Wacky Wishes. The stamp actually says "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year" but I wanted to only use these words, and I didint even jave to use my markers !! I just inked the stamp carefully on the edge of the ink pad and it worked great !! And with the new Firm Foam Ink Pads, the Chocolate Chip ink looked so solid and beautiful, even on the Crumb Cake layer !! Love those new ink pads !! That cute Real Red jumbo button is from the retired Candy Cane Christmas buttons. A bit of 1/8" Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon (also retired) looks really cute weaved in the holes !! A nice fun touch ...

Well, thanks for dropping by today !! Hope you liked my card today and Happy Stamping !!

Friendship Preserves Hostess Gift

Hey Stampers !!

So, tonight is my August Stamp Club !! Yay !! I am all ready to go, but I realized I hadn't shown you my Hostess Gift !! I cased a cute project from the Demo Only magazine, Stampin' Success for this one. They had a bag of chocolates all decorated, but I used a mason jar filled with yummy dried fruits and nuts !! Totally delicious. The stamp set that I used is Friendship Preserves, which coordinates with my FAVORITE Window Frames framelits !! And if you buy both together, you get the bundle for an extra 15% discount !! Pretty cool !! So, take a look at my treats !!

What do you think ?? I stamped this Yum image onto Whisper White cardstock, once with Old Olive ink and once with Rich Razzleberry ink. Then I die cut them with the Window Frames framelits and trimmed the Razzleberry one to layer on top. Love it !! Then a Pumpkin Pie die cut from the Apothecary Accents framelits and a bigger Soft Suede Window Frame were fancied up using my Paper Piercing Tool and both the Essentials and Festive Paper Piercing Packs. I think I am officially addicted tot paper piercing. A little bow of Early Espresso Bakers Twine finished off this adorable little tag.

Then I used some 12" Soft Suede and 12" Baja Breeze to wrap around the jar. I stamped another image from the Friendship Preserves stamp set in Baja Breeze ink onto the cardstock to add some more interest. I really like how it turned out !! The tag then got attached with some dimensionals.

I really think this is a cute and easy gift; either for a child's teacher, co-worker or friend. I hope you can use it as an inspiration for a little gift for someone special in your life. Thanks a lot and Happy Stamping !!!

From My Heart

Hey Stampers !!

Well, todays card uses one of my fav things in this whole world ... a FREE stamp set !! Hahahahaha. There is nothing quite as wonderful as free rubbah, let me tell you. Yesterday I received the beautiful From My Heart stamp set for FREE !! It was the set I choose for the Art Competition that I got 2nd Place in last month. So, of course, even with all of the OTHER stuff that I have on my plate to do this week ... I had to use it to make a card !!It was pretty difficult choosing which stamp to use, but I thought that the Friendship and Teapot stamp was SO sweet !! Check it out !!

I decided I was going to use the image for a card to send to my best friend Justin (who I know reads my blog religiously and now the surprise is ruined ... hahaha ... oh well !!) so it had to be a bit masculine. Not TOO masculine, but just enough that it could pass for a man's card. LOL I ended up stamping this image 3 times; Midnight Muse for the main image, Pool Party for the teapot and Cajun Craze for the Friendship banner. And, surprise surprise, I used my FAV Window Frames framelits to cut it out. I can't think of ANYTHING that doesn't look completely adorable in this shape !! Love it !! And the layer is done in Summer Starfruit and then Paper Pierced using my Festive paper Piercing Pack. Then all of those pieces were sponged with Soft Suede and layered together with dimensionals.

The DSP that I used is from the Comfort Cafe pack. I think my fav paper in that whole collection is that cool paper I used for the main layer. It reminds me of a man's tweed blazer or something, don't you think ?? I think my Grandfather had a jacket like that. I think thats why I associate it with being masculine. LOL The patterns were a bit busy in large doses, but I like how they look all layered like that. And even though its a masculine card, I do think the "floral" pattern really goes well with it. And the Scallop Ribbon Border Punch peeking behind it, looks really nice as well. I did mess up, because I realized after I had the layers all adhered, I forgot to sponge them. But, oh well !! I felt that the colors over all were dark, so that bit of Pool Party Ruffled Ribbon brightens it up !! Its a bit hard to see in the picture, but the ribbon ends hang over the side of the card and are tied with Linen Thread in a bow. Sweet !!

I really like how this card turned out. I think I am going to get a LOT of use out of this great stamp set. If you really like it as well, drop by my Online Store (link on the right of this page) and purchase it !! Thanks for dropping by and Happy Stamping !!

Retirement Rewind #2: Season of Friendship

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Monday !! This is going to be a VERY busy week for me. I have to prep some stuff for my nephews baby shower, try to do some more things for Jackson's birthday party, try to squeeze in some more Christmas cards AND I have Stamp Club on Thursday night !! So, I am trying to psych myself up for some craziness in my stamp room this week !! But that also should mean a few blog posts with some new projects !! Yay !!

Anyways, I am continuing with my second entry in my Retirement Rewind series !! The retired stamp set this time is Season of Friendship. This was my favorite set that retired this past year, so there is NO WAY I am getting rid of it !! I thought the cute little bulbs from the Merry Minis stamp set would look great "hanging" from the branches. What do you think !?!?

I love how it turned out !! Really nice and simple, and easy to mass produce if necessary. And it would be really easy to mix it up and use a bunch of different colors as well !! The colors I used here are Chocolate Chip, More Mustard, Marina Mist, Gumball Green and Real Red. I punched out the star for the top of the tree (also from the Merry Minis stamp set) with the coordinating Merry Minis punch pack. This cute punch pack has the ornament, star and tree images and make a sweet element to any card!! Here, I used a dimensional to make the star really pop !!

The sentiment here is from the Family Reunion stamp set. I just love that set !! I think the really basic font of the sentiment goes well with the clean lines of the images on this card. I punched it out with the Word Window punch and then layered it with the Modern label punch. And of course, I added a bit of bling with some Basic Rhinestones on a few of the ornaments.

If you don't have the Season of Friendship stamp set, you could duplicate the idea from this card using a tree from the Lovely As A Tree stamp set, Christmas Lodge stamp set, Snow Swirled stamp set or the Star Tree single stamp !! Any would look great !!

Thanks for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

Gently Falling with Thanks

Hey Stampers !!

Well, it is the middle of August. And even though the weather is still nice (and we will have some REALLY hot weather when we go to Disney World in only 19 DAYS !!), I am starting to get in the mood for Fall !! Ahhh, Autumn. My favorite time of year !! I love everything about it. The changing of the leaves, the yummy foods made with apples and pumpkins, the smells of cinnamon and nutmeg IN those foods as well as wood stoves starting up again (I think that might only be in Newfoundland though ... LOL), Halloween, Thanksgiving ... I just love all of it !!

And, fittingly, some of my favorite projects to make are Fall or Halloween inspired !! I don't think I've ever met a tree of leaf stamp I didn't like ... And the beautiful Gently Falling stamp set is no exception !! This must have set was in last years Holiday Mini and when I saw that it had made it into this years Annual Catalogue I was SO excited !! This set has all kinds of different leaves and it is a 2 Step Stamp Set, meaning it has background images you can ink in one color and then outlines you can layer over top in a co-ordinating color ... take a look at what I mean !!

See how beautiful that maple leaf is ?? I stamped the background piece in More Mustard ink and then stamped the outline image in Cajun Craze and just stamped it on top !! And where I have the clear mount version, I didn't even have to use my Stampamajig !! Works really well ... so nice !! I then cut out the image with a window frames framelit and then did a bigger layer in Cajun Craze. After I had adhered them together, I ran the whole thing through the beautiful Wood Grain embossing folder !! Isn't that a great look !?!? Love it !!

I went right to town with the wood grain theme, using my Woodgrain background stamp for the Crumb Cake layer, stamped in Early Espresso. I also used some First Edition DSP and put a some More Mustard card stock on either side of it that I had ran through my Big Shot with the Large Scallop Edgelit. I then used my Essentials Paper Piercing Pack to give those scallops some pop !! The sentiment comes from another one of my fall favorites, Day of Gratitude.

I hope you liked my card today !! And even though its still summer, why don't you try and break out some of your Fall supplies and make something beautiful !! Happy Stamping !!

Scentsational Season

Hey Stampers !!

Last night, my good friend (and fellow Stampin' Up! junkie) Louise came over to do some stamping with me !! Truth be told, this is something we do every Wednesday, but with summer still in full swing, sometimes we miss a week. So, it was super fun to hang out last night !! And she brought up some of her new Holiday Catalogue goodies, some of which I don't have, so I got to play with some new stuff !! Yay !! One set that I think is super adorable, but I haven't purchased, is the Scentsational Season
Bundle. You get the super adorable Scentsational Season stamp set and the Holiday Collection framelits. Check out the sweet card I made with it !!

Ka-ute or what !?!?! Those little gingerbread men are SO adorable !! I cased this card from Cindy Beach over at www.stampspaperandink.typepad.com. I switched out a few things, but I loved her card so much I didn't change a lot !! I used the Tasteful Trim Bigz Die again (see my post from yesterday to see a different trim from it) to get that awesome wavy pattern. I cut two pieces of Snow Festival DSP on the die and layered them to get that cool pattern. I also got to use my Northern Flurry embossing folder for the first time this year !! I love those beautiful snowflakes.

The gingerbread men were stamped in Crumb Cake (the new Firm Foam Ink Pads give SUCH a nice solid impression !! Love it !!) and were then ran through the Big Shot with the matching framelit from the Holiday Collection. What a great image !! And that sweet sentiment is actually from the Happy Hour stamp set !! Yes, the one with all the drinks !! Hahaha. I love being able to use stamp sets for lots of different things !! Then I used my Crumb Cake Seam Binding Ribbon for that bow, and dressed it up with a Cherry Cobbler button and some bakers twine ... Hope whoever gets this Christmas card in the mail thinks its as "sweet" as I do !!

Thanks for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!

August Customer Thank You Card

Hey Stampers !!

I was browsing around Pinterest last night (OMG aren't you OBSESSED with Pinning !?!?) and saw a post by Stampin' Up! showcasing the color combo of Pool Party, Crumb Cake and Whisper White. So that was my inspiration for this card today !! I decided to add some Early Espresso to it as well though. LOL And by the way, if you are on Pinterest, you should follow Stampin' Up!! They post awesome projects every day, along with cool things like color inspirations and video tutorials !! And, while your at it ... yo could also follow me !! Click the "Follow Me on Pinterest" button on the right of this page and then you can see all the cool projects I pin !! Its super fun and addicting .... LOL

Anyways, on to todays card !! This is the card I am using for my August customer thanks you's !! If you place an order with me this month, either on my online store or if you contact me to place it for you, you get this cute card in the mail !! Wouldn't you love to get this in the mail from me !?!?

I just LOVE the idea of putting something inside that fun Designer Frames embossing folder !! I actually embossed it twice, once in Whisper White and once in Crumb Cake. I then cut the inside from the White piece, stamped it and then layered it inside the Crumb Cake one. It takes a little time to fussy cut the frame, but I think it is TOTALLY worth it !! The stamped piece is one of the flowers from the Mixed Bunch stamp set stamped in Pool Party and then I stamped the funky Thank You from the Wacky Wishes Hostess stamp set in Early Espresso. Love how that turned out !!

The Pool Party card stock was embossed with the awesome Chevron embossing folder, and layered onto a Whisper White piece and the Crumb Cake card base. The cool scallops are from the Tasteful Trim Bigz Die. LOVE that one !! It has 4 different trims on there, that cut lengths up to 12". Great for scrapbooking pages, but also nice on cards! I then used my white gel pen to add some stitching and voila !! I hope my customers like it !!

Thanks for dropping by today !! Happy Stamping !!

Lacy and Lovely

Hey Stampers,

So, its that time of the month again ... preparing for Stamp Club !! LOL I think the biggest challenge of getting projects ready for Stamp Club is picking out which stamp sets to use !! Its always a challenge to decide which stamp set gets chosen, and I feel bad for the "losers" hahahaha. I am a dork. Anyways, one of the winning stamp sets this month is *drum roll please* Lacy and Lovely !! This was on my first order from the Annual Catalogue, and I love it !! But, I haven't made a card with the cute doilies yet ... so here is my first one !! I really like how it turned out !! Check it out !!

Nice eh ?? I love how feminine it looks ... This color combo of Summer Starfruit, Primrose Petals and Wisteria Wonder is SO nice !! And one of the best things about this set, is that all of the doily stamps coordinate with a circle punch !! The ones I used here are the 2-1/2" Circle, 1-3/4" Circle and 1" Circle Punches. I put dimensionals in between each layer and then mounted that on my trusty scallop from the Perfect Pennants die. Can't get enough of that thing !! And then I put a beautiful Vintage Faceted Button in the middle tied with some Bakers Twine. Love it !!

I also got to use my Delicate Designs Embossing Folder and the matching Large Scallop Edgelit for the first time!! So stunning. The trick to that combo is to cut the framelit first, line up the pattern in the embossing folder with the scallops, and then emboss. If you emboss first, when you cut the embossing will get smashed and turn out flat. Ask me now I know that !?!? Hahaha.

I used the Hello sentiment from the Lacy and Lovely set, but there is also a Miss You and Thank You in there in that gorgeous font. Very versatile !! And then I added some of that delicious 3/8" Stitched Satin Ribbon for the finishing touch.

Thanks so much for dropping by today !! I hope you got some inspiration from this project today ... Happy Stamping !!

Retirement Rewind #1

Hey Stampers !!

So, I am starting a sort of "series". Not sure how long it will go on for, or hoe often I will do it. It is called "Retirement Rewind". I will use some of my favorite retired products, so people that have these items can get some fresh ideas on how to use them !! I have a lot of favorite retired stuff, so I can see this being something I do a lot !! Hope you can get some inspiration from it !! So, on to our first entry !!

The retired items I used on this card are all from Saleabration 2012 !! These stamp sets and DSP were all items I earned for free. Can't wait until next Saleabration !! Its the most wonderful time of the year !! Hahaha. Anyways, my inspiration for this card was the Elementary Elegance stamp set and the brand new Window Frames framelits. I thought that the swirly frame image would fit great inside the framelit, and I was right !! I inked it up in Pool Party and then used the Rock and Roll technique and inked the edges in Lucky Limeade ... what do you think !?!?

I then cut out the image with the framelit and filled in the rounded sides with the little bird (also from the Elementary Elegance set) in once stamped off Calypso Coral. The Happy Birthday (such a lovely font) was inked in the retired Poppy Parade ink and punched out with the Curly Label punch. Everything was then sponged with Soft Suede. The Window Frame layer and banner strip behind used the Everyday Enchantment DSP. This is my favorite DSP EVER ... it is so beautiful.

I thought the card base still needed something else, so I stamped an image from the Fresh Vintage (also a Saleabration set) in Soft Suede in the corners. I LOVE how that looks. Then I added a bunch of Rhinestones and some Everyday Enchantment brads (yes, another Saleabration item). The Mom is from the Family Reunion stamp set, and it was punched out with the Large Oval punch and fancied up with the small flower from the Fresh Vintage stamp set, stamped in some Pool Party ink.

I really think this card turned out beautifully. It was made for a friend to give to her mother for her birthday, I hope she likes it !!

Thanks for dropping by today !! Happy Stamping !!

Snow Festival Neighbourhood

Hey Stampers !!

Well, I am back today with another Christmas card !! This one is SUPER easy, but also really fun and pretty. I am showcasing the Snow Festival DSP on this one. I thought the pattern with all the little houses was SO cute that it would be a shame to cut it up too much !! So I used that as the big focal point ... what do you think ??

I think it is super cute !! I love the colors in this DSP. I pulled out some Baja Breeze, Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and Soft Suede for this card. I think my favorite part of this card though is the little bit of Soft Suede Taffeta Ribbon with the new Designer Ribbon Slide that I put in the corner. Really nice touch !! And more masculine than a bow or something, but more interesting than just plain ribbon. I love them !!

The sentiment is from the now retired Many Merry Messages stamp set, but it would be easy to replace it with any holiday sentiment, especially from the new (and on my wish list) More Merry Messages! The Happy Holidays was heat embossed with white embossing powder, and then I layered it on 2 Modern Label Punches. I wanted a longer looking label punch, so I cut off one end and trimmed the edges so they would be straight. I think it looks great !!

Hope you enjoyed my Christmas card today !! There will be a lot more in the coming weeks as well !! Thanks for dropping by and Happy Stamping !!

Just for You

Hey Stampers !!

So, I am in the precess of creating my August Stamp Club projects, and I know I want to use the Perfectly Preserved stamp set for one of them. But now its about coming up with the RIGHT project !! So, I came up with this card last night but I am not positive if I will use it for Club or not. What do you think ?!? It this one club worthy !?!? Hahaha Take a look !!

I LOVE THIS SET !! Ok, it is official. This set (and the matching Cannery framelits) are so fun !! And remember, if you buy both the Perfectly Preserved stamp set and the Cannery Framelits you can save 15% !!! The bundles in the Holiday Catalogue are such a great way to save money !!

These little apples are so adorable. They would be perfect for a fall project or anything school or teacher related, don't you think !?! And that little jar. I LOVE her (yes, I think it is a her ... hahaha). And I also love the Orchard Harvest DSP. I wanted to use the apple print paper for this project, but thought it was a little busy for this particular layout ... so I used a strip of it along with the Island Indigo gingham and the Raspberry Ripple polka dots. Really like the effect !! And I love that Early Espresso Stitched Grosgrain. Really striking !! I think that Linen Thread around the "fabric top" of the jar is a cute touch as well. I can just see sending a jar or jam or preserves to somebody with the little bow ... sweet !!

Well, I hope you liked todays card !! And leave a comment and let me know if you think my Club Girls will like this card !! AND if you are interested in becoming a "Club Girl" or in having your own workshop, drop me a line !! I would love to stamp with you !! Happy Stamping !!

FIRST Christmas Card of the Year !!

Hey Stampers !!

It is officially time to break out the hot chocolate ... start baking cookies ... listen to "John Denver and the Muppets" ... because in my house, the Christmas Season is upon us !! Well, in my craft room it is anyways ... LOL !! I have to make between 50 and 60 Christmas cards every year (and each one is unique) so I have to get started in August to get them ready in time ... Now I promise I will be making OTHER cards as well, but I have started the Christmas ones !! YAY !! Hahahahaha

I have started out pretty simply though. Clean and simple I would call this. I knew I wanted to use the new Merry Mini set from the holiday catalogue first, cause it is SO adorable (even though I didn't use the co-ordinating mini punch pack) and I was so excited when this paper from the Snow Festival DSP had the same little ornament shape as the stamp !! Stuff like that gives me a thrill ... hahahahaha ...

I think this is so cute !! And it would be totally easy to mass produce. The color combo of Cherry Cobbler, Gumball Green and Baja Breeze was pulled from this awesome Snow Festival DSP. I love the blue with the red and green, makes it look really modern !! And my 1" Square Punch and Postage Stamp Punch makes a cute focal point for those ornaments ! The sentiment is from the essential Sweet Essentials stamp set ! I love this fun font with these whimsical ornaments !!

Well thanks for dropping by today !! Hope you liked my project. Happy Stamping !!

Baby On Board !!

Hey Stampers !!

So, I am still on a new nephew high !! Lin (the new Mommy) asked me to make a unique "Baby on Board" sign for their car, so I decided I better do it before they come home from the hospital !! I loved the color combo from their card so much (Midnight Muse, Marina Mist and Gumball Green) that I decided to use it again, with a little Daffodil Delight thrown in !!

Ka-ute !! I used my FAV alphabet stamp set, Notable Alphabet, for the letters. I love how childlike they are ! And then I used the (unfortunately retired) Fox and Friends stamp set for the cute little critters. I then stamped the letter Q (baby Quinton's initial) on the colors with the same color ink and punched them out with the Full Heart Punch. Then to fancy up the hearts, I did some paper piercing around the edge with my Essentials Paper Piercing Pack. Love how that turned out !! All it needs now is to be laminated and hung in the car !!

Well, I hope you enjoyed todays post. I always love coming up with new items that can be stamped !! Hahahahaha. Keep dropping by this week, cause I have some CHRISTMAS stuff to post !! GASP !! LOL Thanks for coming by and Happy Stamping !!

Welcome Baby !!!

Hey Stampers !!

So, my good friend (who happens to be married to my uncle) had a baby boy last night !! I am so happy !! Where our kids are the same generation, he will call me Aunt Catherine so YAY !! I don't have any siblings and will never be a REAL aunt so to be a Aunt/Cousin is SO exciting !! I can't wait to go meet him today ... we live in the same town so I can see our kids being close growing up. So exciting !!

So, of course I made a card !! Hahaha. I have had this color combo of Marina Mist, Gumball Green and Midnight Muse on my list of color combos to use, and I think a little boy was the perfect opportunity !! I have seen a bunch of cards with this little banner on them, so I thought it would be fun for this card. Take a look !!

Cute hey !?! Those banners are nice and easy to create with the Petite Pennants Builder Punch. Just punch them out and stick them down !! I used Mini Glue Dots for the adhesive, so it would stick really well to that awesome Houndstooth embossing folder ... tons of texture !! I also used the Pennant Parade stamp set for the white pennant. That little dashed border of Midnight Muse was the perfect outline for my little star. Speaking of that little star, isn't it adorable !?!? Its a brand new punch from the Holiday Catalogue !! It comes in a 3 pack along with a little christmas tree and a little ornament. But the star is my favorite !! So many more uses than just at Christmas time ... I decided the little star was too cute, so I used it on the inside of the card as well ...

It adds the perfect, fun punch of color !! And the awesome "inside and outside" stamp set One in a Million adds the perfect sentiments both on the front of the card, and on the inside. And I got to use my beloved DSP Stacks for the patterned paper. I love how simple the patterns are, stripes and polka dots ... so cute !!

Well, I hope you enjoyed todays card !! I think it was so cute, and it would be easy to make it for a little girl as well ... just change up the color combo !!

Thanks for dropping by today, and Happy Stamping !!

One in a Million Wedding

Hey Stampers !!

Happy Friday !! Not that I am complaining, but it seems like lately every time I turn around it's the weekend !! AND this is a long weekend (Monday is the Civic Holiday) so thats even MORE awesome !! So excited !! Not sure what we have planned for the rest of the weekend, but Saturday we are going to a wedding !! So of course ... that means its card making time !! Hahaha. I wanted to do something a bit different with my colors this time, so I busted out the Basic Gray and paired it with Whisper White and Calypso Coral. I think its really elegant, but still modern. I love it !! What do you think !?!?

I used 2 stamp sets for this; Everything Eleanor is the cool swirly pattern and the flower under the sentiment and One In A Million has that beautiful sentiment. It is SO perfect for a wedding !! The "matching" sentiment for the inside of the card says "Wishing You a Lifetime of Happiness" ... so nice !!  The flower underneath the sentiment was inked up in Calypso Coral, stamped off on some scratch paper and then stamped on the Whisper White. The Basic Gray wasn't showing up over the full strength Calypso Coral, but stamped off first gave it a nice soft look. Very delicate.

That stunning doily die cut is from the Delicate Doilies sizzlit, isn't is beautiful !?!? And that coral layer is also from there. I just used it as a layer instead of a full on doily, and I really like how it turned out. To cut those out, I put clear packing tape over my sizzit die (this stays on permanently) before I ran it through my Big Shot. This makes the die a bit slippery so all the tiny pieces wont get stuck. You do have to poke some of them out after with a Stylus or Paper Piercer, but I think it is totally worth it. So gorgeous !!

Well, I hope you all have an amazing weekend !! See you real soon and Happy Stamping !!

Make A Cake with Bitty Banners

Hey Stampers !!

Well, I am CELEBRATING !! Yesterday I got an email from Stampin' Up! congratulating me on getting an Honorable Mention in their October Art Contest !! YAY ME !! My card gets published in the demonstrator magazine Stampin' Success October issue and I get to choose any free stamp set I want !! I am SOOOO excited !! I will definitely post the card later on, after it has been published. PUBLISHED !! I can hardly believe it !! This is the first item I have submitted to them, and it got picked !! They only pick 2 from each category (3 categories every month) so I figure 2nd place is pretty good !! Woo hoo !! Hahahaha

My card today is sort of on the celebration line. Jackson is invited to another little girls birthday party next weekend, and I figured since I had the time, I would get the card made ! I saw this gorgeous layout and the banner idea on Cori Kozak's blog (www.creativechat.blogspot.com) and I new I had to try it out !! Those adorable banners are made using the Bitty Banners Framelits and I just LOVE them !! What do you think !?!?

Cool hey !?!? I just cut out 8 banners, 4 each of the small and large in Primrose Petals and Patio Party DSP, and layered the small onto the large !! What a cute look !! And then I scored the banners at 1-5/8" and folded it over a piece of White Bakers Twine. They were adhered with Snail low enough that they could still be moved on the twine so I could adjust them to be exactly where I wanted them. I just wrapped the ends of the twine around the back and added the bows later with some Glue Dots.

The adorable cake is from the Make A Cake stamp set. I inked the different stamps and stamped them all with the Stampamajig. I found it SO easy to layer the image with that awesome tool. I then cut out the image and its layer with the Labels Framelits. And that yummy Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon adds the perfect touch !! Love it !!

Well, I hope you liked my card today !! I was really pleased with the banner technique, and would love to show you how to do it in a workshop !! Get in touch with me if you would like to learn how as well !! Have a great day and Happy Stamping !!

The Liebster Award !!

Hey Stampers !!

My friend and neighbour Kathleen over at My Dark Cove Pantry has given me the Liebster Award !!

This is an award that blogger friends give other blogger friends ... LOL ...

Liebster means:

"Liebster, as a word, is German and means: sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. What a lovely word!"

Isn't that sweet !?!?! Thanks Kathy !!

You are supposed to answer 11 questions that the person who gave you the award gave you ...

Here are the 11 questions that Kathy gave me !!

  1.  What are you most proud of? My little boy and my hubby. We make a pretty AWESOME little family, and I think we are something to be proud of. LOL
  2.  What's your favorite food? Pasta. I could eat pasta everyday. And if there is cheese on it ?? Even better ... hahaha ...
  3.  Do you have any hidden talents? Not really. I don't hide many things. I used to be a singer (even studied it in University for a while) but thats not hidden. So I;m going to say no ... hahaha
  4.  What music would you say is your favorite right now? Anything Broadway or from a musical. Right now I am (still) obsessed with The Book or Mormon and the new revival of Porgy and Bess. But my favourite singers of all time are Idina Menzel and Barbra Streisand.
  5.  What's the last book you read? I am ALMOST finished Summer Garden, the 3rd book in the Bronze Horseman trilogy. It is AMAZING. Read it if you haven't !!
  6.  What's your favorite movie? Gone With The Wind. But I love ALL Disney movies as well.
  7.  What got you interested in blogging? I follow a lot of other Stampin' Up! blogs, and when I became a demo I really wanted to give it a try. So after a retreat I went to with my awesome upline Kay Smith, she gave me the confidence to go for it. And here I am !!
  8.  What is your favorite season? Autumn. 100%. I LOVE it.
  9.  What would you do with a totally free day? Stamp and Craft !! Definitely catch up on my scrapbooking. Oh and read and maybe watch a movie.
 10. If you could meet one person, dead or alive, who would it be? Only ONE !?!? Sigh. Well, I would have to go with Idina Menzel. She is my idol and I love her.
 11. What is your favorite Christmas tradition. As a pretty new Mommy, I have lots of traditions that I want to start with my family. The one I love that we already DO is that every Christmas Eve we go to my dads house for a fish supper, then go to Church. After that everyone comes back to our house and we put out the cookies for santa and hang the stockings. After Jack goes to bed, we listen to Chrsitmas music and have a lunch. Its great !!

Thanks so much Kathy for this award !!
