Scentsational Season Hot Cocoa Gift Jars

Hey Stampers,

Sometimes it seems like there is a never ending line of people you need to give some sort of little Christmas gift too. Something small and fun, for co-workers or neighbours or the mail man. This year I decided to do something a bit different than the usual Christmas cookies ... some homemade Hot Cocoa mix !! It is pretty easy to make (the recipe I used is here) and all it needs are some fun candies and marshmallows to fill up the jar. I had found these ADORABLE Gingerbread Man and Peppermint marshmallows, so I decided to go with that as the "theme" for my jars. I love how they turned out !! Take a look !!


Here are my Gingerbread Hot Cocoa. In these mason jars; I put the mix, some milk chocolate chips, some mini marshmallows and some gingerbread flavoured (and shaped) marshmallows. So of course, I had to use the sweet mug and gingerbread man from the Scentsational Season set !! I stamped the gingerbread in Soft Suede ink, and cut him out with the matching Holiday Framelits. I then stamped the mug in either Gumball Green, Cherry Cobbler or Baja Breeze and stamped it on Whisper White. Before I stamped it though, I used a blender pen to remove the ink from the cocoa part, and coloured that in with my Soft Suede marker ... it's not good to have Gumball Green cocoa right ?? LOL This got punched out with the 2-1/2" Circle Punch, and then I made a slit in the "cocoa" part to slide in some of the gingerbread man. Cute right !?!? I then layered the circle onto a die cut from the Delicate Doilies Sizzlit die. Some bakers twine hung it from the ribbon around the jar cover, and that was it !! I think they are SO adorable !!


Here are my Candy Cane ones ! Same make up really. Inside these jars I have the mix, little peppermint flavoured white chocolate chips (with cute red and green sprinkles on the bottom), white mini marshmallows and peppermint marshmallows !! Love love love it !! I think the candy cane sticking up out of the mug is so sweet, don't you ??


And here is how I decorated the tops of the jars. I used the 2-1/2" Circle Punch to punch out a piece of DSP (I used both the Snow Festival and Be of Good Cheer packs), then a 1-3/4" Circle of cardstock, a 1-1/4" Scallop Circle of another color of cardstock and a tiny strip of Whisper White or Very Vanilla with the "Happy Christmas" stamped on them ! That sentiment is from the More Merry Messages stamp set, one of my absolute favourites. And if you think that Satin Pleated ribbon is just delicious, they have it in 4 colors on the clearance rack !! Can't get any better than that !!
