Flowering Flourishes Birthday

Hey Stampers,

Brace yourselves. Today's project is NOT a Christmas one !! Shocker !! Hahaha. The thing is, the real world doesn't stop just because it's December right ?? People still have birthdays and all that fun stuff, so I still DO make cards that AREN'T Christmas ones !! Haha. The beautiful card I am sharing today is one I made for my AMAZING Stampin' Up! upline Kay. She is actually a few steps above me (I think we worked it out to be 4) but she is SUCH a well of inspiration and encouragement to me ... she is the best !! Her birthday is this week, and she emailed me today saying that she received this card already, so I can go ahead and share it with you guys !! This is not usually the kind of card I make, but I admire this style SO much ... I decided to create my own version of a "shabby chic" card !! Take a look !!

I love this fab color combo of Crumb Cake, very Vanilla and Summer Starfruit! Love love love. Summer Starfruit is quickly becoming one of my favorite colors. It can't be used in HUGE quantities, but the little touches of it just bring a lot of richness to a card (in my opinion). Haha My main stamped piece is a piece of very Vanilla cardstock that measures 3-3/4" by 5". I stamped the En Francais background stamp in Crumb Cake and then stamped the Flowering Flourishes image right on top with the Summer Starfruit ink. This all got nice and sponged in Crumb Cake ink, along with my Summer Starfruit layer (4"x 5-1/4") and my Crumb Cake card base. A strip of Crumb Cake also was die cut with the Large Scallop edgelit and embossed with one of the Delicate Designs embossing folders. LOVE that beautiful lacy texture !! The sponging of Crumb Cake really brings out the beautiful details.

After adhering my stamped Very Vanilla layer to my Summer Starfruit, I attached a piece of the 3/8" Summer Starfruit Stitched Satin Ribbon over the edge of the embossed strip. I usually just wrap a straight piece around, tape the ends on the back and attach a bow with a Mini Glue Dot afterwards. I like the clean lines of that method better. My sentiment comes from the Blooming With Kindness stamp set. I stamped it in Crumb Cake ink and then used my Apothecary Accents framelit to cut it out. This got sponged too (of course) and a few pearls really blinged it up !! Love those pearls for a more sophisticated bling. Hahaha

I hope you enjoyed my card today !! I think its really beautiful. Thanks for dropping by today and Happy Stamping !!
