Happy & Bright Mixed Bunch

Hey Stampers !!

I am having the BEST day !! Ever have those days where everything is going right !?! Today is such a day for me !! We had a SUPER awesome time at Stamp CLub last night. My ladies had a ball making some fun projects and our hostess even brought a HOMEMADE ice cream cake !! It was super delicious. I wanted to share a bright and cheerful card today to mirror my bright and cheerful attitude ! Its a pretty easy card, and uses some of my fav products. Take a look !!

Isn't that just SCREAMING summer to you !?! I love it ! Its one of the cards I made at my Demo Retreat a couple weeks ago. It uses one of my all time fav sets of Mixed Bunch, plus the brand new Gingham Garden Washi Tape ! Washi tape is SO fun, and if you haven't used any before you HAVE to try it ! I was a total newbie to the joys of washi until SU brought out some of their own this year ! I used the Gingham Garden set today, and love these fun and bright colors ! I took a piece of Whisper White measuring 3-3/4" x 5" and wrapped my 3 washi tapes around it. This take is so forgiving, if you make a mistake putting it down you can peel it right back up and reposition it ! Love how they are a bit transparent as well, so you can see the cardstock right though it. I then used the Sweet Essentials set (on sale for 25% Off until the end of June ) to stamp my sentiment with Pear Pizzazz ink. This was layered onto a piece of Pear Pizzazz measuring 4" x 5-1/4" and then added to an island Indigo card base with some Dimensionals. Then it was time to make my flower !

I used one of my FAV sets of Mixed Bunch for this sweet flower. I stamped the flower with Melon Mambo ink onto Melon Mambo cardstock and punched it out with the Blossom Punch. I used my Bone Folder to curl up the petals, giving this flower a lot of fun dimension. I stamped one of the flower centres from this set in Daffodil Delight ink onto Daffodil Delight cardstock and punched it out with the
3/4" Circle Punch. This was added to the middle of my flower with a Dimensional, and then I added the flower to the card with even more dimensionals !! Love how it turned out and so quick and easy too !! Would be a great car for so many occasions - just switch out the sentiment !!

Thats it for me today !! Thanks a lot for coming by to see me today ! I really appreciate all of you that read my blog. And I LOVE comments - so leave me a message ! Have a great day and Happy Stamping !!

Beautiful & Kind Card

Hey Stampers,

Good day to you ! I had a very busy (but productive) night last night. I went and had my nails done (what ??? me time ?? I know ... shocking ...) and after I settled Jackson into bed (hubby had went fishing for a couple hours) I went down to my stamp room. I created another SWEET card for the Inky Fingers Club ! I am SO pleased with how my stuff is coming together !! Remember, if you want to see these fun creations (from me and the 13 other talented designers) you need to sign up for the Summer Session ! Please click on the link above or to the right of this post. Also, please contact me and let me know if you sign up !

The sweet card that I am showing you today uses one of my FAV new sets from the Annual Catalogue. Its only a simple set, but I LOVE it. Its called Too Kind, and its a beautiful 2 Step Stamping flower set with 2 beautiful sentiments. I loved the softness of this beautiful set as soon as I saw it, and its the first set I needed to play with when I got my box of goodies this weekend ! I decided to use the color combo of Wisteria Wonder, Elegant Eggplant and Pear Pizzazz. I also wanted to use a lot of Whisper White to made it look clean and elegant. Take a look at what I came up with !

Isn't that just too sweet ?? I love the abstract style of the flowers in this set. I took my strip of Whisper White measuring 1-3/4" x 3" and stamped my 1st step of the flower in Wisteria Wonder ink and layered the 2nd Step over it with the Elegant Eggplant ink using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. These 2 colors are just MADE for 2 Step Stamping ! I then stamped the stem with Pear Pizzazz ink, and using my Stamp-a-ma-jig again, lined it up exactly where I wanted it ! The Stamp-a-ma-jig is essential for 2 Step Stamping like this (especially for a perfectionist like me ... hahaha). I then layered this piece onto a second piece of Whisper White measuring 2" x 3-1/4" with some Dimensionals. I love the look of layering White !! So elegant. This was then adhered to a piece of Elegant Eggplant measuring 2-1/8" x 3-3/8". That thin border of the deeper purple really makes the layers pop. I then stamped my sentiment using the Elegant Eggplant ink onto a scrap of Pear Pizzazz, punched it out with my 1-3/8" and adhered it to my stamped piece with a Dimensional. A few pearls on my sentiment piece really adds to the simple elegance of this card.

I took my main layer of 4" square Whisper White and embossed it with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. I wrapped a piece of the (sadly retired) 3/8" Wisteria Wonder Ruffled Ribbon around the top and adhered it to my card base. I wanted to make this card a square one, so I cut my cardstock at 4-1/4" x 8-1/2", scored it in half and made a 4-1/4" square card. Love having different sized cards, especially for a simple card like this. Perfect for sending a quick not to someone !

I continued the simplicity on the inside. I cut my Whisper White to 4" square and stamped the other sentiment from this set (isn't that a BEAUTIFUl verse??) with Pear Pizzazz ink. I then stamped the smaller flower in the bottom corner. Sweet and beautiful !! Just love this set !!

Thats all for me today !! I will be going to my June Stamp Club tonight (excitement !!) so I will tell you about all the fun we had tomorrow !! LOL Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Thanks for Mosaics !

Hey Stampers,

Good Morning !! I hope you all had a lovely Father's Day with the special fathers in your life. We all went to a lovely new restaurant in our area, Down Home Delights. It has AMAZING food, a great atmosphere and awesome service ! If you are in the Eastport area, you simply MUST try it ! The chicken and ribs are to DIE for. And of course, it was great having an evening out with my family ! I can see Brian and I going there in the near future for a date night as well. We know all the people who work there too, so its an extra bonus to feel "at home" when we go there !

I am very busy creating all the projects for my Inky Fingers Club Summer Session, and I need to have them sent away very soon ! I am SO excited about the fun projects I am creating and even MORE excited to see what my fellow Design Team Members have made ! If you would like to see these EXCLUSIVE projects (complete with step by step instructions) please join this fun club !! You will get over 50 exclusive projects to learn !! How fun is that !?!

And of course, I have my June Stamp Club tomorrow night ! Very fun ! The card I am showing you today is one that we are doing tomorrow night. It uses the fun Quatrefancy Suite - which I LOVE ! I am using the Mosaic Madness stamp set, Modern Mosaic embossing folder, Mosaic punch and Quatrefancy DSP. All of these products are SO fabulous together and I love the bright colors ! Take a look for yourself !!

Isn't that so cute ?? I can't wait to make this fun card with my Stamp Gals !! I stamped my mosaics in my colors of Island Indigo, Strawberry Slush, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight and Pool Party. On the Pool Party one, I stamped my sentiment from the Petite Pairs set (on sale for 25% off until the end of the month) right on top with Island Indigo ink ! I was SO excited when I discovered that most of the sentiments from that set fin inside the Mosaic punch !! Then I punched them all out. I embossed my piece of Daffodil Delight with the matching Modern Mosaic folder, and then layered it onto a piece of Island Indigo.

A skinny strip of the Quatrefancy DSP was layered onto a piece of Strawberry Slush cardstock that I punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon Border Punch, and then added to my embossed layer. I added all of this to a Whisper White card base using Dimensionals. LOVE that nice thick border of white to offset all of the bright colors in the middle ! Then I arranged the punched out mosaics how I wanted them and added them with Dimensionals. Some Rhinestones (Basic and Large) and Itty Bitty Punch flowers really finished them off ! What a lovely Thank You card to send to a friend !!

Thanks a lot for coming by today. I hope to share some more fun things from the Annual Catalogue this week !! I only got my order on Friday and haven't really even had a chance to play yet ! Come back soon and Happy Stamping !!

3 Cheers for Father's Day !!

Hey Stampers,

Happy Father's Day !! It much be Fathers Day - because its 10:15am and my hubby is still in bed ... hahaha. Jackson goes in every once in a while and jumps on him - but to no avail. I must remember this for next Mother's Day ! LOL We are going out for supper this evening at a BRAND new restaurant in a neighbouring community. I know that might not seem like a big deal to you "big city folk", but a new restaurant in my neck of the woods is a big deal ! And its a chicken and rib joint !! We are pretty excited. We are going with my dad, sister in law, and in laws. Should be great !! Yummy !!

Well, as usual, my poor hubby (the best Daddy ever next to my own of course) gets a last minute card. BUT I still think it turned out great ! If any of you know Brian, you will know that this card is perfect for him. Because he LOVES beer ! One of my fav stamp sets, Happy Hour, got used for this card. One major disappointment with this set however is that there is no beer mug !! I mean COME ON !! So, I had to come up with one myself. I saw this idea somewhere and have NO IDEA who created it. I searched a bit last night for someone to credit - so if you know who it was, please let me know !! I used some strategic sponging and the Ticket Duo punch. SO clever and cute !! Take a look !!

Isn't that SO fun !?! My hubby is gonna flip !! And so easy to make. for the mugs, I took some scraps of Whisper White. I then sponged pretty heavily in Crushed Curry an punched it out, keeping some white on the top, with my Ticket Duo Punch. I then trimmed off the top ticket shape for a flat top for my mug. CUTE ! Then, I used the circle from the Itty Bitty Punch Pack to punch half a circle, and punched around it with the Small Oval Punch for my little handle. I sponged my pieces lightly with some Early Espresso ink and attached my handle with some dots of Tombo Liquid Glue. That was it ! Such easy and cute little mugs. I think they look perfect !

I attached them to a strip of Island Indigo that I embossed with the Chevron folder. I then added that strip to a piece of Gumball Green - half of which I embossed with the Stripes embossing folder. The bottom part that wasn't embossed was used for my sentiment. I inked up the "3 cheers" stamp from the Happy Hour set in Early Espresso and stamped it onto my Gumball Green layer. A piece of the AWESOME new 3/4" Crushed Curry Chevron Ribbon was put along the side. I used a retired Bronze Designer Button tied with some Early Espresso Bakers Twine to add a bit of shine. This was all put on an Early Espresso card base. I then added some of the medium sized Pearls as the "bubbles" coming out of my beer. Cute right !? Love that fun touch. Who knew that Pearls had a way to be masculine !?! LOL

Here's the inside of my card. I stamped the fathers day sentiment from Delightful Dozen with my Island Indigo and Gumball Green markers and punched it out with my Decorative Label Punch. A little layer of Crushed Curry was added with another Decorative Label cut in half. I then used some of the fun drink stamps from the Happy hour set to dress up the inside. I stamped the drinks onto my layer in Early Espresso, then stamped them onto some scraps and cut out the coloured drinks and olive and added them with some adhesive. A couple more pearls in the martini really adds some fun pop. LOVE this fun set !! How come I don't play with it more !?! Another case of "too many stamps, too little time" I guess ! hahaha

Thanks a lot for coming by today !! If you are behind and need a quick card for a dad in YOUR life, why not try this cute one !? Have a Happy Father's Day and Happy Stamping !!

An Epic Day By the Tide

Hey Stampers,

Happy Saturday !! Yesterday was my hubby's birthday, and last night we had some YUMMY chili I made for supper (its cold and rainy here, even though it is the middle of June ... sigh) and then went up my Dads in the Hot Tub !! A great way to relax after the end of the work week. Even though I am working TODAY so that is technically besides the point. LOL

I am super excited today because my June Stamp Club is on Tuesday !! I look forward to that night ALL month - its just the best time !! I am really into the grungy distressed look lately, and I have been super inspired by all the fab samples I have been seeing - especially one with splatters and splotches of ink. My good friend Cathy really got me into this style, and I always think of her ink splattered self whenever I do a project like this ! Since my beloved Color Spritzer Tool has recently retired, I needed to find a way to make these splatters myself ! And I think I like this way even MORE ! Take a look at my cool card and I will tell you how to make it, including how to make these fun inky splatters !!

Isn't that so funky !?! I love the new Epic Day DSP and thought it would go great with the By The Tide set. I am SO glad this one made it into the big catty !! It is so perfect for masculine OR feminine cards (depending on what stamps you use) and of course, a must have for anyone who lives on the water where fishing is a HUGE part of their culture !! Here in Newfoundland fishing is HUGE HUGE HUGE so I knew this set was a total necessity for me !! I stamped my 2 fish - once on Gumball Green and once on Pool Party - with Basic Gray ink. I then fussy cut them out with my Paper Snips. Takes a bit of time, but not really difficult, I then punched out a 2-1/2" Circle with some Very Vanilla cardstock and stamped the seaweed image onto it with some Calypso Coral ink. I sponged my circle with Crumb Cake ink. My layer of DSP is cut at 3-3/4" by 5" (love the wider border from the card base) and my sentiment piece is another piece of DSP cut at 1-1/2" x 3". I stamped the sentiment from the Sassy Salutations set with some Basic Gray ink. Remember this set is one of the sets in the Grab your Greetings Promo with is On Sale for 25% Off until June 30th !! I then rounded the corners of my sentiment piece and sponged both DSP pieces (and my Crumb Cake card base) with Basic Gray ink. Then I was ready to make my splatters !!

This technique is SO easy I have no idea why I didn't try it before !! You need a basic paint brush (like the mini kind that comes with a Kids Paint By Number Set hahaha) or an Aqua Painter, a paper towel and a glass of water. Pop open your ink pad, but don't flip it over yet. Then squeeze the ink pad so a good amount of ink gets in the lid of your pad. Make your paint brush nice and wet, and then swirl it around in the ink. Then just splatter !! Tap the brush with your finger, shake it around, jam it down to make big water drops and sprays ... just have fun with it !! I splattered in Basic Gray, Crumb Cake, Gumball Green Calypso Coral and Pool Party. I just kept adding and adding until I was satisfied with what I came up with !! Make sure you clean the brush well in-between colors so they don't get all muddy. And after a while, you will probably need to change your water. But thats it !! And it really doesn't take that long to dry either, but you do want to make sure it is completely dry before you adhere your layers together. My last touch was a piece of the 7/16" Natural Trim, frayed at the ends, tucked under my punched circle. Love that trim so much !

Thats it for me today !! I am SO excited to show my girls this fun card !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

My Epic Day This & That Journal

Hey Stampers,

Happy Friday to you !! I am sharing with you today another project that I made at my Demo Retreat last weekend. I was SO excited by the new This and That line that SU has come out with, and I couldn't wait to get my very own Journal to play with !! Since I am going to my FIRST EVER Convention this year (I'm sure I've mentioned that, haven't I ?? HAHA) I really want to remember everything about it, so I thought that using this cool journal to "scrapbook" my trip was a great idea !! I brought it with me to my retreat hoping I would get some inspiration to decorate it - and it came from one of the most UNLIKELY places ! I had seen a gorgeous journal on Shelli Gardner's blog (she is the Founder and CEO of Stampin' Up! if you didn't know !!) right here and I thought it was SO stunning - but I didn't have any of the products to make it, most importantly some Chipboard. But, what is this !?! There was a nice big piece of Chipboard (a fancy word for thick dense cardboard) in with my Epic Day  Designer Stickers !! AND my sister in law Barb, who was with me at the retreat, had her awesome Typeset Alphabet Bigz Dies with her !! YAY !! So, I got to work on creating something I just LOVE !! Take a look !!

I know its not really much like Shelli's, but I LOVE how it turned out !! Like I said, I used the Typeset Alphabet dies to cut out my initials, as well as the butterflies from the Beautiful butterflies die. How great that our Bigz Dies can cut out thick things like Chipboard !! I then cut out some of the awesome Epic Day DSP, also using my dies. I attached them with some REALLY strong adhesive, the Multipurpose Adhesive Sheets. I then used an emery board (yes, like you would use on your nails) to file all the edges for a seamless look. Also, gives it a great distressed finish !! I then sponged my Chipboard pieces - the big butterfly with Crumb Cake, the smaller in Pool Party and the letters in their respective DSP colors. They look SO AWESOME in person !! I am thrilled with them ! Not too shabby for my first time using Chipboard !!

I really wanted to use the awesome verse from the Feel Goods set on here. Its a bit corny, but I feel like I believed that I could become a demo and share my love of paper-crafting with "the world" (ha ha) and the fact that I am going to Convention really beings that all full circle for me. So, I was determined to use that piece here. I used my Gumball Green and Calypso Coral markers to color in the stamp and then stamped it onto some Whisper White. I die cut it with my Ovals Collection framelits, and then traced the same oval onto a piece of Pool PArty with a pencil and cut it out. I was really pressed for space here, so the next size up of framelit would have been too big. I love using the framelits as a stencil for tracing ! I sponged both of these pieces with Crumb Cake ink and also stamped a lovely doily image from the Delicate Doilies set in Daffodil Delight ink for even more interest. I used the heart shaped clip from the (retired) Elements Cute Clips set and tied a bit of White Bakers Twine in a little bow. SWEET right !?!

My last few steps were to decorate using some of the Epic Day Designer Stickers. I added the 2013 to the right hand bottom and also those cute Chevron images. Some 1/4" Daffodil Delight Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon made the perfect "body" for my bigger butterfly, and the Linen Thread was great for my small butterfly. I added all of my Chipboard pieces with some Tombo Liquid Glue for a nice strong hold. This really had to be sturdy to make the trip to Utah with my in a couple weeks !! Lastly I splattered some fun inks all over for the perfect grungy look. Love it !!

Thats it for me today !! I really hope you like my fun journal - and that you will do one for yourself !! If you want to pick up these awesome products, please stop by my Online Store to get some ! they are so fun to play with !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!

Retirement Rewind #10: Bold Blossom

Hey Stampers,

Today is my LOVELY day off - so I get to spend the day hanging out with my sweet little boy ! We are going to do some shopping and then go to Play Group this afternoon. Should be a great day ! I also hope to squeeze in a little stamping too. Tuesday is my June Stamp Club, and I am ALMOST finished preparing, so if I can get a bit done today I should be good ! Today I am going to continue with my Retirement Rewind series. It has been a while since I have done an entry, what with all the old catalogue going out and the new coming in. But todays card is SO adorable I just had to let it get off my computer and onto my blog !! It uses the retired set called Bold Blossom. I believe this set was in the Spring Mini in 2011 ?? Before I was a demo anyways. I love the bold images. I decided to pair it with a super bright color combo too !! Take a look !!

Isn't that SOOO fun ?? I love it. I used a color combo of Old Olive, Daffodil Delight, Rich Razzleberry, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango and Tempting Turquoise. Can't get much more bright and summery than those colors, right ?? I got the idea for this card when I thought that the little flower image would fit perfectly in the 7/8" Scallop Circle punch. And I was right !! I stamped one in each color onto Whisper White and punched them out. My piece of Whisper White was then stamped with 5 stems and I added my flowers on top with some Dimensionals. I layered my stamped piece onto a piece of Melon Mambo and added some 1/4" Tangerine Tango Ribbon (this was the one we could earn for free this year during Saleabration - Sycamore Street). I added a bow with a Glue Dot, and then stamped the cool "for you" from the A Round Array stamp set (new in the catalogue!) in Tempting Turquoise ink and punched that out, also with the 7/8" Scallop Circle. I added that with a Glue Dot to the middle of my bow - love that !! I stamped the cute butterfly from this set in some Rich Razzleberry ink on some scrap Whisper White, cut it out with my Paper Snips and added it with a Glue Dot. Of course, some Rhinestones to the centres of my flowers was TOTALLY necessary. Hahaha

My layer of Daffodil Delight was looking a little plain, so I stamped it all over with the butterfly stamp in some Daffodil Delight ink. Love the tone on tone look !! And it adds a lot of interest without using any more products - a great way to add texture if you don't have a Big Shot and embossing folders ! All that was added to an Old Olive card base. Cute or what ?!?!

Thats my card for today !! I used this as a Door Prize at one of my Stamp Clubs. I love giving a card and some retired product as door prizes !! It could be a stamp set, DSP, ribbons, buttons, whatever ! Wouldn't you love to come to one of my events and maybe win something fun like this ?? We would love to have you !! Thanks a lot for coming by today and Happy Stamping !!
